  • The first Time Hubby invited me to his family house to come see his mum and siblings… I said na like this the thing Dey be … I kept postponing the invitation telling him am not ready to see them

then I asked him .. can’t we just marry like that without seeing your people they will come for the wedding naa … Uche ndi Private life Madonna University

My thought then was very plenty .. what if they don’t like me now .. like this you no go marry me again ???

What if there is another person they wanted for him and am here coming to show myself …

What if immediately I come .. they all enter one room and start doing Muchu Muchu

Which cloth will I wear … ( I had lots of cloth in my wardrobe ooo .. but at the Mention of coming to see the family .. all my clothes vanished

I had so many what if in my heart and was so skeptical about their validation .. but guess what all this thought vanished with this few point I noted down here

    1) Just be your self : Don’t be too Nervous as whether they will like you or not cos most times the devil capitalizes on our thought and emotions. And you see yourself been overwhelmed with Negative thoughts.. A lady told me that a day to the day she was to go see her hubby’s family .. so many negative thoughts about them not accepting her … she said her mistakes was not praying over it .. and when she got there .. exactly the way she thought about it .. it happened.. though she is not married into the family .. but only God knows the best Maybe for her Good ..

    2) Don’t over dress .. cos you might end up meeting lesser expectations of what you opted for .. if you love casual.. just make it clean and neat, if you love native, English wear etc .. just make it simple and nice wear a nice perfume.. not choking Hazards that will saturate the room ..

    3) Don’t Go to show yourself so much on the first day : you want to sweep the house that day, you want to cook that day, you want to mop that day, you want to do certainly everything that day .. sis calm down is just the first day .. help with the little you can .. they might stand up to assist you or tell you not to worry ..

Mine was after eating cos they prepared delicious meal for me .. my mother in-law can cook .. she na chef all the way ..
That day after eating I stood up to carry the plate to the kitchen.. hubby allowed me to take the tray to the kitchen .. maybe to allow me proof a good wife to be for his mum .. but 2 mins later I Didt come out .. he came to the kitchen and saw me bringing out the plate to wash … the next thing he just clapped 3 times then called me Ezigbo Mmadu ( you can demonstrate this I just said like kpa kpa kpa .. Ezigbo mmadu ) keep that plate let’s go inside .. I said No naa Allow me let me wash it .. in my mind I no wan wash am ooo but as a good girl naa I can’t just keep the plate like that … I just washed my hands fast fast.. before he will now change his mind and tell me to wash it .. to test if am wife material .. we came back to the parlor ..and continued our discussion..

    4) Dominating the conversation: Be a good listener and give others a chance to share their thoughts and stories. I love you love talking .. but at this point can you just hear what they have to say … May be you will hear their mind from there

    5) Be Sensitive: whatever you dont like is more reasons when you come back you say No .. A lady told me that on her first visit to her husband to be family house .. the first mud house she met at the gate was shrine with Bl00d spills .. just the sight of that alone told her .. she can’t Marry this man .. and that’s how the relationship ended she said she can’t start fighting battles her family abolished long ago .. she left ..

Being late: Be punctual and arrive on time for your visit. If you say you are coming by 12 .. latest 12:30 you don’t keep people waiting and you expect them to start smiling with you when you arrive by 2 or by 4 .. you ve certainly kpaid the vibes…

    Advice to the Man

Then As a man, you are the one from the family. You have a Role to play .. you don’t just invite your wife to be to your family house .. then you allow her to face your family in fears …

Protect her from unnecessary questioning and jokes .. Your wife should not come in and become another younger sister. Let her be your wife, the extension of another family.

There are things your wife to be should not be subjected to before marriage.

When she becomes your wife, she will naturally gravitate toward it.

    The lord bless your Marriage
    Your marriage will succeed

  • Something I didn't even know was on my bucket list has been achieved. I have cooked Thanksgiving dinner with Martha Stewart. I vow to follow the gospel of her teachings and do my very best in the remarkably less glamorous kitchen of my own home... without the luxury of magically appearing prep bowls filled by a staff of sous chefs.

  • I lived in the northern part of Nigeria for more than two and half decades, here are the foods I miss so much;

    - Dambu nama or kaji: Shredded and spiced dried meat. When you pour these over your rice ehh.

    - Lettuce salad: It's usually a mixture of sliced lettuce, tomatoes, onions, suya spice and oil. You will mix all up. If you want, add shredded meat or chicken.

    - Wara: it's made from soyabeans and fried. Then spiced with yaji. Wayooooo

    - Dan wake: Dumplings made from beans. It's served sprinkled with oil and yaji. You would think it's meat

    - Fura da nono: Gotten from cows. There was this lady that sells at the front of my mom's shop those days. I would buy, add peanuts, banana and honey and blend until creamy. Wallahi dadi gari shi.

    - Waina: I had the best in FCE Zaria kaduna state. When I discovered they made the best, I bought everyday. I preferred suya spice sprinkled on it. Absolutely yummy.

    - Kilishi: They make the best, no cap. Granddad always asked for it whenever we traveled. My family love it.

    - Tuwo masara: We always mixed it with cassava. Pairs well with any Nigeria soup. Try it.

    - Gurasa: it's a flat bread, oiled and rubbed with suya spice. You can have them with cabbage salad and chicken suya.

    - Suya: The northerners makes the best

I left the north, but the north did not leave me

  • I was teaching a class one day, and I began asking the students questions.

πŸ‘¨πŸΎ"What do you want to become in the future?"

    "A DOCTOR!"
    "A FAMOUS PILOT!"
    "A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS MAN!"
    "A LAWYER!"
    "A PRESIDENT!"
    "A MILLIONAIRE!"
    "A CHEF!"

The students enthusiastically shouted their respective choices, their voices overlapping. But amid the excited responses, there was a girl who sat near the window, his chin resting on her palms.
She appeared lost in thought and had a sad expression.

πŸ‘¨πŸΎ"Hey! You over there, what do you want to become in the future?"

I walked over and stood in front of her. She stood up weakly and whispered,

    πŸ‘§πŸ½"I want to live."

The whole class burst into laughter.

    "Who doesn't want to live?"

one of the students at the back shouted mockingly.

Another round of laughter filled the classroom.
I calmed the class down and turned back to the Girl.

πŸ‘¨πŸΎ "Does it mean you don't care about your future? Look at your classmates—they're already planning their futures, and you should too."

The girl looked at me with tears in hee eyes and said,

πŸ‘§πŸ½"I have cancer, and my doctor said tomorrow is my last day."

Silence engulfed the classroom. I was stunned by the revelation.
I held her close and hugged her tightly. Imagine knowing that you have just a day to live—the feeling is heartbreaking.
The other students gathered around and hugged her in turn.

A few days later, we received the news that she had passed away.
My heart has always hesitated to share this story, but it's become evident that countless individuals face unimaginable challenges every day.
