  • The following are the Types of Transmission Systems:

    1. Manual: It is a transmission system where gear changes require the driver to manually select the gears by operating a gear stick and clutch.

    2. Automatic: It is a multi-speed transmission used in motor vehicles that does not require any input from the driver to change forward gears under normal driving conditions.

    3. CVT: A CVT, or continuously variable transmission, is an automatic transmission that uses pulleys and a belt or chain to continuously change gear ratios, instead of fixed gears.

    4. IMT: Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) is a clutchless transmission that combines the convenience of an automatic transmission with the control of a manual transmission.

    5. DCT: A dual-clutch transmission (DCT) is a type of transmission that combines the performance of a manual transmission with the ease of use of an automatic transmission.

    6. AMT: The automated manual transmission is a type of transmission for motor vehicles. It is essentially a conventional manual transmission equipped with automatic actuation to operate the clutch and/or shift gears.

  • The idea of the Joshua Challenge is not to unravel God's power. Nobody can. The idea is to make people think. There are wrong answers but no right answer. Random is about thinking faith.

We've been told over the years faith and intellect don't mix. Nothing can be further from the truth. Jesus is called the Logos in the Bible. Logos is rational divine intelligence. It's from Logos we got the words, zoology, logic, and even logistics. Meaning, Jesus is the source code of the sciences and humanities. How can the Creator of the universe not understand science! The net effect of this wrong indoctrination is why some people of faith imagine God suddenly put brakes on the earth's rotation to answer Joshua's prayer. Just a little bit of research would have killed such thought.

I have also seen people struggling with the Joshua Challenge refer to the Bible passage as a myth. They unwittingly imagine themselves the boundary of knowledge. What they don't understand is unattainable. And instead of crediting themselves with ignorance, they lay the charge at the feet of Christianity. The ironic thing is, if a Christian attributes a gap in knowledge to God, they label God, "God of the gaps." But when they do the same, they fail to label themselves. Lords of the gap? Are Joshua, the Cananites, and the Israelites a myth? Of course not!

What they don't realize is that they themselves verify scripture in being drawn to a social media page exalting Jesus. As it is written, "And I, if and when I am lifted up from the earth on the cross, will draw all people to Myself - Gentiles, as well as Jews.” (John 12:32) They fulfil scripture.

As to Christians who think such exercises are needless, "It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter." (Proverbs 25:2) I find it an interesting coincidence that Einstein describes space as a fabric, just as the Bible does in Hebrews1:12. That's what cross polination of knowledge does. It makes scriptures real, makes us appreciate God more.

Intellect is not anti God. Ignorance is. There is such a thing as intelligent faith.

  • . Still wondering how God created longer daylight for Joshua to finish his battle. (Joshua 10:11-14) We know the Sun didn't stand still. Daytime is created by the earth's rotation.

We also know God didn't slow down the speed of the earth's rotation. That would have been catastrophic. The average speed of Earth's rotation about the location of Canaan is 1,446.1 km/hr. The earth does not wear seat belt. There will be tsunamis if the earth brakes suddenly. So, how did God do it? Could it be through what physicists call gravitational lensing? What is gravitational lensing?

Einstein and the Bible view space as a fabric. (Hebrews 1:11-12) Einstein imagined the stars and planets denting the fabric, causing smaller objects to roll towards them. That, he said, is how gravity works.

This denting of the fabric of space is not just caused by big objects. Anything with mass dents the fabric, including paper clip. Just that the effect is negligible. Scientists have a word for this denting. It's called warping of space.

Now, light travels in a straight line. But because of the warping of space around heavy objects, it follows the dent in the fabric. When this happens, we say gravity bends light. If there's a galaxy cluster, light bends around it, instead of going through it. This produces intensified and sometimes multiple images of the source. This process is called gravitational lensing. It turns galaxy clusters into gigantic, magnifying glasses. Could this magnified light have produced a larger surface area for the light falling on earth for Joshua? A wider surface area for light means the earth will stay longer in light as it rotates. Could this be how God did it - manipulated our galaxy to produce gravitational lensing?

But it will require moving stuff around, bulking up. And it will probably take the source light 100,000 years to cross our galaxy, unless the source light is the sun. That will take 8 minutes. But he'll need to rearrange stuff, bulk things up. I'm astounded at the sheer scale of God's vision for the universe. And to think there's just little us floating in space, perhaps alone!

After a thousand and one plea to get my Dad to teach me how to drive, he finally obliged. It was on a hot sunday evening and before we mounted the wheels, he handed me a list of DOs and DON'Ts I must adhere to.
    Topping the list were:
*No wear slippers enter my motor
    *Use two legs march brake
    *Use two hands hold steering
*No ever press phone for highway
*Keep your eyes for front, no dey look window
    *No ever fire speed
    *No ever look back
    *Abeg no look woman
*If person call you, no answer
    *Pray before you begin drive
*Off my motor for hold up
    *Nnamdi avoid police
*If you jam person, off motor run. But if them catch you, I no know you.
I glanced through the list in quick succession and heaved a relieving sigh. I couldn't wait to begin.
We walked up to the car and he opened the door, sat on the passenger's seat in front while I occupied the driver's seat. We had a short prayer session and he began introducing the car accessories to me.
"Daddy, make we just start. I sabi them" I voiced intrusively
"You sabi wetin?" He fired back "Oya show me rare mirror?"
I pointed to the windscreen. What followed was a heavy knock on my head.
Another sermon began amidst some stern warnings, then he asked me to start the engine. I did and the engine came to life. A cloud of thick smoke had poured from the exhaust pipe and gathered behind us, and when I had turned to Iook at what it's like, another knock landed on my head.
"No dey look back!!" He yelled at me
After yet another round of orientation, I stepped on the throttle and the car began to crawl. I was so elated. Some of my friends who saw me began to hail me but immediately I turned to stare at them, another knock landed on my head.
"This boy, you no dey ever hear word. You wan get accident? No look person!" Dad warned again
Well, that experience was indeed hellish. I literally earned a knock for driving too fast, earned one for driving too slow, earned another for not horning when I should, earned a lot more for driving right into bumps and potholes. My head began to swell and ache.
Realizing whatever I did would attract a knock, I decided to do as it pleased me. I damned whatever consequence and stepped on the gas. The car tripled in speed and took off on the highway. My dad almost got a heart attack.
    "Nnamdi? wetin you dey do!?"
    "Nnamdi? march brake!"
    "Nnamdi? off my motor!"
I was about to hit the brakes when I sighted some policemen mounting the road, one of them was signaling me to stop but I didn't. I almost ran him over save for his quick response to move out of the way. I was catching fun.
All the while, my dad was overly frightened with sweat pouring down his face like a fountain. After unleashing a dose of heavy knocks on me, he resorted to yelling and pleading, telling me to allow him drop so I can continue alone. I finally hit the brakes and the tyres came screeching on the asphalt concrete before heading for the nearest bush. We finally got stuck in the bush and I killed the engine.
"This is the Nigerian police" A voice yelled behind us "You both are under arrest. Get off the car with your hands on your head as anything you say or do will be used against you in the law court!"
My dad was the first to alight and I followed suit. He began to approach the officers with his hands in the air.
"Officer, I no know this person o" He voiced out in a traumatized tone "Na k!dnap him kidnap me!"

  • Mother's Love

Late one evening, a married couple were driving down a dark country road, which served as a shortcut across a mountain.

The narrow road curved dangerously and the thick fog that covered the valley made the journey a bit treacherous.

Suddenly, they saw a woman stumble out into the middle of the road. The husband slammed on the brakes and came to a stop right in front of her.

The woman’s clothes were bloody and she was waving frantically. The couple got out of the car to see what was wrong with her.

The bleeding woman explained that she had been in an accident. Her car had skidded off the road and rolled down the cliff.

She told them that her child was still stuck inside the wreck and begged them to help.

Despite the heavy fog, the husband scaled the steep cliff and made his way to the bottom, guided by the cries of the child.

There was an adult slumped over the steering wheel, but the man could see the person was beyond help.

Using all his strength, he forced the boot open, then reached in and rescued the baby.

Holding the child against his shoulder, he climbed back up the hill with great difficulty.

He reached the top, eager to reunite the mother and child, but he realized that the woman was nowhere to be seen.

When he asked where the woman had gone, his wife told him that she had followed him down to the scene of the crash.

Leaving the crying child with his wife, the man made his way back down the steep incline. He checked the front seat and found the dead person still slumped over the steering wheel.

When he moved the dead body to look at the face, he was shocked to discover that it was the woman who had flagged them down.

  • Nigeria, the land of plenty, but we're stuck in reverse like a car with a crazy driver! No brakes, just a wild ride to nowhere fast. We've got the goods, but we're not delivering. Time to shift gears and get this party started! #NigeriaForward #ProgressOverRegression #InnovationNation #GrowthMindset
