• GOV ENO ASSURES EQUITABLE DISBURSEMENT OF BUSINESS GRANT TO WIDOWS OF FALLEN HEROES

In further demonstration of deep concern for the welfare of widows of Nigeria's fallen heroes, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has outlined modalities of ensuring equitable administration and disbursement of the N250 million business grant he awarded them to mark the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

The Governor spelled out the disbursement criteria while speaking during the January edition of the Akwa Ibom State Government House Monthly Prayer Service, held at the Later House Chapel, Governor's Lodge, Uyo, Saturday, January 18, 2025, where he also outlined modalities for the proposed town hall meetings across the 10 Federal Constituencies of the State.

Describing the circumstances of his life as the mould that has shaped his governance disposition, Governor Eno urged Akwa Ibom people to thank God for the new year and expect the multiplied grace of God in the new season.

He stressed that his administration is committed to discontinuing the trend of release of government financial support to vulnerable citizens without commensurate socioeconomic effect on the targeted beneficiaries.

The Governor therefore directed the Ministries of Women Affairs and that of Humanitarian Affairs to commence the compilation of data of the widows of service men, to ensure a judicious disbursement process, and utilisation of the fund, towards ensuring optimal attainment of its purpose.

On the planned town hall meeting and empowerment in all the Federal Constituencies in the first quarter of 2025, Governor Eno tasked leaders and stakeholders of each Federal Constituency to, prior to the meetings, come up with a unified presentation that will represent the position and needs of their constituencies.

He further said that only those whose businesses are located within a local government area will be qualified for the special LGA - focused business grants.

Pastor Eno also called on pastors to continually pray for the good of the State and the government, and eschew tendencies that could dent the body of Christ.

The General Overseer of Christian Fellowship Evangelical Church, Reverend Emem Jacob, delivering a homily on the theme, "Dimensions of Grace," culled from 2 Peter 1:2, charged Christians to, while manifesting the various dimensions of God's grace, deliberately ensure that the grace does not end with them, but make a mark on their environments and generations after them.

  • RULES TO A HAPPY & SMART LIFE IN 2025.

    1. Speak less and listen more. And when you have something to say, mean it and people will be eager to hear you talk.

    2. Never argue with people on subjects like religion, politics, and controversies. You can just agree with them or ignore them and go away. If you wish to argue with them on those subjects, they will drag you to mud.

    3. Think before you speak. Rushing to say something without thinking about it first can result in saying something you will regret later.

    4. Be humble and polite to others. No matter how they treat you. In the future, they will regret it.

    5. Control your emotions. You need to keep their emotions at the backseat while letting logic drive the car.

    6. Do not reveal your next move to anyone. No one can attack what they don’t known.

    7. Don't speak about yourself. Resist shifting the focus to you.

    8. Always make eye contact and be confident while talking to others. Maintain eye contact for 50 percent of the time while speaking and 70% of the time while listening.

    9. Don't ever try to copy someone. Be unique.

    10. Do not start something you cannot offer full dedication.

    11. Silence is the best answer to h@ters. Stop feeding them with the attention they need.

    12. Train yourself for the ability to come up with great opinions. Be very analytical and this will help you see things differently. Have the reasons why you do things the way you do. Be free to see things in your own unique way.

  • How to Deal with Failure and Bounce Back Stronger

Failure is a part of life. Whether it’s in business, relationships, or personal goals, everyone faces setbacks. What truly matters is how you respond to them. Here are some simple ways to deal with failure and come back stronger than ever.

    1. Accept Your Feelings
It’s okay to feel disappointed, frustrated, or even angry when you fail. Don’t try to ignore these emotions. Instead, take time to process them. This is the first step toward healing and moving forward.

    2. Learn from the Experience
Failure is a teacher in disguise. Ask yourself, “What went wrong? What can I do differently next time?” Every failure comes with lessons that can help you grow.

    3. Focus on What You Can Control
Sometimes, failure happens because of things beyond your control. Instead of dwelling on the “what ifs,” focus on what you can change. Taking small steps can rebuild your confidence.

    4. Stay Positive
Remind yourself that failure doesn’t define you. Many successful people failed countless times before they achieved greatness. Use affirmations and surround yourself with supportive people who lift your spirits.

    5. Take Action
Once you’ve reflected and learned, it’s time to act. Set new goals and work toward them with a fresh mindset. Remember, failure is not the end—it’s just a detour on your journey to success.

    6. Celebrate Small Wins
Even small achievements matter. Celebrate your progress, no matter how minor it seems. This builds momentum and keeps you motivated.

    Final Thoughts
Failure is not the opposite of success—it’s part of it. Each setback is an opportunity to grow, improve, and try again. By learning to embrace failure and bounce back, you’ll become stronger, wiser, and ready for even greater challenges ahead.
