  • A man in Kano went to a foodseller. He had not eaten in 3 days. He begged the seller for food on credit.

The foodseller said no because he already gave food to too many people on credit.

The man sat down beside the foodseller’s shop as he had nowhere else to go.

The foodseller told him he’s very sorry and he would like to help but too many people in the neighbourhood have collected food on credit and his business is sinking.

The man sat there and said nothing.

As time went on, other people came into the shop to buy foodstuff and went out- they noticed the man at the door sitting there sleeping. But nobody bothered.

Until one man came later in the day and asked the foodseller: “who is the man sitting at your door?” “Why is he there?”

Then the foodseller said “oh it’s a man who says he has not eaten for 3 days and he wants to collect food on credit but I could not give him because my business is struggling from all the credit I have already given out”.

Then the other man said: “How much is the food he wants?”

The food seller said “It’s a few cups of garri, rice and beans. Everything may be 2,000 naira”.

The other man said “Alright pack everything he wants and more. I would pay for it. Let him go home to his family and eat”.

The foodseller packed all the food and went outside to tell the man with joy that someone has paid for his food.

He saw the man still sleeping.
He tapped him to wake him up, he didn’t respond. Tapped him again, nothing.

    The man had died.
He died sitting and waiting for help.

This happened just few days ago in Badawa, Kano. Some people who live in that area know this story.

The man was dead all along while people were coming in and out of the shop thinking he was sleeping.

He died hopeless. He died helpless. He died a man who his country failed.

If you know anyone in this period who is hungry around you and you can afford a little food or money to give him/her, please do.

Many people are walking the streets with an empty stomach. Lend a hand if you can.

  • IMPOSSIBLE TO BE TOGETHER
    EPISODE 10

Adunni's step mother finally got home, and the first thing she did was to start shouting at adunni.

From where I stood, i could hear the conversation between her and adunni.

“You stupid, hopeless girl, what did I told you before leaving for the market this morning?”....... she yelled angrily.

“You said i should come meet you at the market when I am done with the house chores”........ adunni replied, at the verge of shedding tears.

“So why didn't you come to the market, as i had instructed?”.......her step mother yelled again.

“ I'm sorry maami, i was busy at home, so I forgot to come to the market”....... adunni pleaded on her knees.

“Don't worry, by the time i am done with you, you will never disobey my orders again”...... adunni's step mother said angrily.

She raised her hands up and wanted to start beating adunni, I instantly stretch my hands towards her, and my magical powers sent her flying in the air, and hit her hard on the ground.

Adunni rushed towards her in panic thinking her step mother had died, because she was unconscious.

I stretched forth my hands towards her again, and twist my hand like i was controlling something.

Suddenly adunni's step mother regained consciousness, and she immediately sat up from the floor and was coughing loudly.

Adunni quickly rushed in, and came out a minute later with a cup of water in her hands, then she carefully gave her step mother to drink from it.

Her step mother drank the water, and gave adunni the empty cup, panting hard, like someone who just ran a long distance.

With the help of adunni, her step mother got up from the floor, and slowly went inside the house without confronting adunni anymore.

I smiled mischieviously seeing what I had just done, I won't allow anyone hurt my beautiful maiden, never.....I said within myself.

After i was sure adunni's step mother won't trouble adunni again, I went back to the river where I belong.

When I got to the river bank, i teleported myself back into the waters.

Immediately i got into the water, I saw my duplicate already waiting for me.

I decided to have a little chit chat with him before sending him away.

How was your stay with my mother, hope she wasn't suspicious about you?.......I asked my duplicate worriedly, but it suddenly started laughing.

“You are talking as if you don't know who your mother the queen is, of course she suspected me, and was even monitoring my every moves, but I managed to distract her from me”.........he responded.

“That is so thoughtful of you, am really greatful”......I said, tiredly.

“I'm sure you had a nice time with the love of your life, she is very pretty, no wonder you have been going crazy over her”.......it teased me.

“So you have been monitoring me while I was away?”.......I asked in surprise.

“Seems like you've forgotten quickly that a part of me was with you when you left to see her”.........it retorted, and we both laughed.

“It was a very long day for me, i think I need to go and rest now”........I said, referring to my duplicate.

He simply nodded his head, then I brought out my precious stone from my dreadlocks, and then placed it on his forehead, and he disappeared within the twinkle of an eye.

After my duplicate disappeared, I swam towards the palace and saw my mother sitting on her throne, and omi-eda sat beside her.

She stared at me for a while like she was searching for something in me, but I comported myself like i didn't care about anything, so she won't look suspicious to me.

“You were sitting close to me some minutes ago, were did you went to?”...... mother asked gently.

“I went mating with a maiden of our kind”........I replied bluntly.

Immediately i said that, mother and my sister giggled and were whispering to themselves, I heard what they were whispering, but I pretended not to care.

“I hope it lead to something good”....... mother said again.

I didn't respond, i kept thinking about adunni, I was missing her already, and cant wait for the next day to come, so I would see her again.
