  • That year, I enthusiastically planned our family's expenses for November, expecting a specific payment. But to my surprise, it didn't arrive - no email, no SMS alert, nothing . My faith momentarily turned to 'Fanta' as sleep evaded me .

Next morning, I cooked Efo Riro with shredded Norwegian Oporoko. Lost in thought, I forgot to remove cinnamon sticks from the Oporoko's jar and poured everything into the soup! Two big cinnamon sticks joined the mix .

As it cooked, I detected cinnamon and wondered, 'I didn't use cinnamon, what's going on?' . The taste confirmed my fears: 'Ah, cinnamon ke, ninu efo riro?' (Cinnamon in my Efo Riro?) . I rushed to my husband, 'Babe, I accidentally added cinnamon. No chop am! E resemble Oporoko. Help me remove it!'

Despite worry about the uncertain payment, we trusted God, knowing He fathers us well, even when His ways aren't clear or mine . 'Babe, what if we don't get the money? How do we run the month?' We hatched plan B, trust Him more come what may .

Ironically, the expected payment arrived, and another client confirmed their payment . God showed up! I'm grateful; if not, where would I find the energy to share this story? Imagine if I had given in to worry? I had Fanta, not faith, that day! He cares ; I've learned to submit to His sovereignty, despite my stubbornness .

  • One of my friends' brother used to ask, 'What are the eternal consequences of your hustle?" The question got me every time I hear it!

Psalm 90:12 is a prayer . Every son must pray it daily. To ask God to teach us how to use our days so we might apply our hearts to wisdom.

You see, one of the most common issues believers have with prophetic messages is that sometimes they do not come to pass. It is even more painful when it is a corporate word from God, and some testify of its fulfilment while others simply watch. In learning what is required to process a word unto manifestation, I have learnt that how we spend our time over time can impact on whether what we have been promised comes to pass.

God is both the justifier and the just. There are always conditions precedent for all that we enjoy in Him. And while He has sent His son to level the playing field, everyone ought to step up and know how they do with their time. Benefactors only help because we catch their eyes, and we catch their eye, because we spend our time well.

In Acts 9, Dorcas, who lived in Joppa, died. The people were so distraught that they sent for Peter and compelled him to come and bring her back to life. When Peter got there, all the people did was have the widows show him how valuable a living Dorcas was to them. He prayed, God answered, and she was brought back to the joy of the people she served. Even death was overruled because of how she spent her time.

An elder statesman and father of faith, Dr Tunde Bakare, recently, in explaining Ephesians 5:16, said that any time we spend that wasn't for redemptive purposes contributes to what is called an evil day.

My understanding is that, even when God has made me a promise, what I do with my time is the key to my walking in the manifestation of God's word and promise to me.

If you like me await the fulfilment of a prophetic word, I encourage you to review what you do with your time. Is it spent for redemptive purposes or self?

Busy isn't enough. It must also be redemptive. What is the eternal consequence of how you spend your time?

Father, teach me to number my days...

Mixed fortunes for the naira as reserves rise
The Nigerian currency has experienced mixed performance
across all foreign exchange market segments in the past
    week.
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said the FX reserves
hit record levels in 33 months, advancing 68 points
weekly to settle at $40 billion.
Data from the FMDQ Exchange shows that the naira
depreciated by 70 basis points against the dollar to settle
    at N1,678.87 per dollar.
However, the naira strengthened at the parallel market by
30 basis points against the dollar to close at N1,720 per
    dollar.
Rewane asks CBN to auction more dollars
Rewane disclosed that there is no economic basis for the
naira to trade at less than 30% of its fair value in less
    than one year.
He expressed strong optimism that the naira would
recover some of its losses in January.
CBN hikes exchange rates for importers as dollar
    strengthens amid Donald Trump’s win
According to him, the difference between the black market
and the official window has disappeared.
He said the development was responsible for the 30%
value depreciation due to speculative round-tripping.
The FDC boss said the CBN should announce a dollar
sales programme similar to the T-Bill auction to help
    reduce market uncertainty.

  • People are sad if their business is not booming, forgetting what God did for them in the past. Some are worried on a daily basis. This is too bad for them. If you know how God protects you from danger every second of your life, you will worship Him non-stop. Praise Him every second, minute and hour. He gives you room/second chance to make amends. God is annoyed with the whole world because we do not know how to praise Him.#ProphetAmos

  • According to a new study, people who accept their negative emotions have better psychological health.
Pressure to feel upbeat can make you feel downbeat, while embracing your darker moods can actually make you feel better in the long run, according to a new study out of UC Berkeley.

“We found that people who habitually accept their negative emotions experience fewer negative emotions, which adds up to better psychological health,” said study senior author Iris Mauss, an associate professor of psychology at UC Berkeley.

The study, published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, tested the link between emotional acceptance and psychological health in more than 1,300 adults in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Denver, Colorado, metropolitan area.

The results suggest that people who commonly resist acknowledging their darkest emotions, or judge them harshly, can end up feeling more psychologically stressed.

By contrast, those who generally allow such bleak feelings as sadness, disappointment, and resentment to run their course report fewer mood disorder symptoms than those who critique them or push them away, even after six months.

“It turns out that how we approach our own negative emotional reactions is really important for our overall well-being,” said study lead author Brett Ford, an assistant professor of psychology at the University of Toronto. “People who accept these emotions without judging or trying to change them are able to cope with their stress more successfully.”

Three separate studies were conducted on various groups both in the lab and online, and factored in age, gender, socioeconomic status, and other demographic variables.

“It’s easier to have an accepting attitude if you lead a pampered life, which is why we ruled out socioeconomic status and major life stressors that could bias the results,” Mauss said.

In the first study, more than 1,000 participants filled out surveys rating how strongly they agreed with such statements as “I tell myself I shouldn’t be feeling the way that I’m feeling.” Those who, as a rule, did not feel bad about feeling bad showed higher levels of well-being than their less-accepting peers.

Then, in a laboratory setting, more than 150 participants were tasked with delivering a three-minute videotaped speech to a panel of judges as part of a mock job application, touting their communication skills and other relevant qualifications. They were given two minutes to prepare.

After completing the task, participants rated their emotions about the ordeal. As expected, the group that typically avoids negative feelings reported more distress than their more-accepting peers.

In the final study, more than 200 people journaled about their most taxing experiences over a two-week period. When surveyed about their psychological health six months later, the diarists who typically avoided negative emotions reported more mood disorder symptoms than their nonjudgmental peers.

At this point, researchers can only speculate on why accepting your joyless emotions can defuse them, like dark clouds passing swiftly in front of the sun and out of sight.

“Maybe if you have an accepting attitude toward negative emotions, you’re not giving them as much attention,” Mauss said. “And perhaps, if you’re constantly judging your emotions, the negativity can pile up.”

Next, researchers plan to look into such factors as culture and upbringing to better understand why some people are more accepting of emotional ups and downs than others.

“By asking parents about their attitudes about their children’s emotions, we may be able to predict how their children feel about their emotions, and how that might affect their children’s mental health,” Mauss said.

  • One night I was flying over my village and people looked up and said "Look Bangambiki is flying while he is a man, where did he get the wings? Get down, you are dreaming!" I answered them, “I am not a man. I am a superman, and supermen fly!" I am sure I might have fallen if I believed what they told me. Continue flying, continue dreaming, you are a superman

When Rema Started , they were comparing him with Fireboy .

Years later they are comparing Rema to Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy . Fireboy is nowhere to be found.

In this music industry, to succeed , you must be extremely Creative .Talent can never be enough . If Fireboy still has some money ,let him relocate to Ghana and start a business .

Moral lesson : When last did you listen to Fireboy ?
