Human rights lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi Esq., has urged the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), to take immediate action to drop all charges against the detained #EndBadGovernance protesters and secure their unconditional release without further delay. In a statement on Wednesday, Olajengbesi emphasised the importance of upholding the fundamental rights and freedoms of the protesters, who were exercising their constitutional right to peaceful assembly and expression.

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has directed its branches to monitor the trials of #EndBadGovernance protesters. In response to concerns about legal representation, the NBA has also launched a Pro Bono support initiative for protesters without legal counsel. The NBA said its Citizens’ Liberties Committee (NBA-CLC) has been tasked with working closely with the Chairmen and Human Rights Committees of NBA branches in regions where protesters are being prosecuted.

The Nigerian government, through the Legal/Prosecution Section of the Force Headquarters, is set to present four witnesses in its case against Isaac Bristol, identified as a whistleblower by the name - PIDOMNigeria, for allegedly exposing classified documents on social media.

Drew Povey, a Briton accused of inciting insurrection against President Bola Tinubu's government, has urged the Nigerian government not to treat protests as treason. Povey, whom the Nigerian government also identified as Andrew Wynne, made this plea in a statement responding to allegations of building "a network of sleeper cells to topple" the Tinubu administration and cause chaos in the nation. Povey's bookshop, located at the Abuja headquarters of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), was previously raided and sealed.
