Protest Is Not Treason, Release All #EndBadGovernance Detainees – Briton, Drew Povey Lambasts Nigerian Government After Declaring Him Wanted | Sahara Reporters
Drew Povey, a Briton accused of inciting insurrection against President Bola Tinubu's government, has urged the Nigerian government not to treat protests as treason. Povey, whom the Nigerian government also identified as Andrew Wynne, made this plea in a statement responding to allegations of building "a network of sleeper cells to topple" the Tinubu administration and cause chaos in the nation. Povey's bookshop, located at the Abuja headquarters of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), was previously raided and sealed.
