  • Learning from Mistakes

    Thomas Edison tried two thousand different materials in search of a filament for the light bulb. When none worked satisfactorily, his assistant complained, "All our work is in vain. We have learned nothing."

    Edison replied very confidently, "Oh, we have come a long way and we have learned a lot. We know that there are two thousand elements which we cannot use to make a good light bulb."

    Moral: We can also learn from our mistakes.

  • Learn to Appreciate

    Once upon a time, there was a man who was very helpful, kindhearted, and generous. He was a man who will help someone without asking anything to pay him back. He will help someone because he wants to and he loves to. One day while walking into a dusty road, this man saw a purse, so he picked it up and noticed that the purse was empty. Suddenly a woman with a policeman shows up and gets him arrested.

    The woman kept on asking where did he hide her money but the man replied, "It was empty when I found it, Mam." The woman yelled at him, "Please give it back, It's for my son's school fees." The man noticed that the woman really felt sad, so he handed all his money. He could say that the woman was a single mother. The man said, "Take these, sorry for the inconvenience." The woman left and policeman held he man for further questioning.

    The woman was very happy but when she counted her money later on, it was doubled, she was shocked. One day while woman was going to pay her son's school fees towards the school, she noticed that some skinny man was walking behind her. She thought that he may rob her, so she approached a policeman standing nearby. He was the same policeman, who she took along to inquire about her purse. The woman told him about the man following her, but suddenly they saw that man collapsing. They ran at him, and saw that he was the same man whom they arrested few days back for stealing a purse.

    He looked very weak and woman was confused. The policeman said to the woman, "He didn't return your money, he gave you his money that day. He wasn't the thief but hearing about you son's school fees, he felt sad and gave you his money." Later, they helped man stand up, and man told the woman, "Please go ahead and pay your son's school fees, I saw you and followed you to be sure that no one steals your son's school fees." The woman was speechless.

    Moral: Life gives you strange experiences, sometime it shocks you and sometimes it may surprise you. We end up making wrong judgments or mistakes in our anger, desperation and frustration. However, when you get a second chance, correct your mistakes and return the favor. Be Kind and Generous. Learn to Appreciate what you are given.

  • But God: A Story of Redemption and Grace

    J Neil Daniel

    In Paul’s letter to the Corinthians, he speaks to those who have come out of deep darkness and into the light of Christ. He writes, “And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God” (1 Cor 6:11). I find myself deeply connected to those words. Such were some of you. That was me.

    I started down the wrong path early in life. By the time I was 9 or 10, I was already experimenting with inhalants. Between the ages of 13 and 14, I began using narcotics, drinking hard liquor, running away, and became sexually active. My teen years were spent in and out of juvenile facilities. By the time I was 18, I was arrested—and nearly three decades later, I have been incarcerated ever since.

    I was lost. I was hopeless. I was trapped in a life that had no future, no direction, no hope. But God.

    But God, in His incredible mercy and grace, found me, redeemed me, and gave me a new life. God has done more than just pull me out of the pit I had dug for myself—He has transformed my life completely. In prison, He opened doors I never imagined possible. He gave me the opportunity to pursue an education, to study His Word, and to minister to others who are on the same dark path I once walked.

    Today, I mentor men, I fellowship with people both here and beyond these walls, and God has blessed me with ministry opportunities that far exceed anything I could have dreamed of. Among these opportunities are writing and publishing a half dozen books in theology and working closely with the publishing arm of an international Christian ministry.

    Paul was right: such were some of you. But God.

    No matter how far gone you think you are, no matter how deep into darkness you’ve fallen, remember this: there is always hope, because But God changes everything. He redeems. He restores. He saves—to the uttermost.

  • He clearly had doctrinal issues and twisted scriptures to soothe his stance. He was trying to correct someone who didn't know much about the Bible, except for singing "I love Jesus, he's my friend." We patiently listened to him while he scolded the young Christian; apparently, it was an issue of morality, just a minor misdemeanor in my opinion. The girl was really sad, broken, confused, and ashamed.

    Looking for backup after the long sermon, he asked my husband in Yoruba, "Egbon, se mo paro?" (Meaning: Big brother, did I lie/Am I lying?).

    In a soft, measured tone, my darling husband replied: "Iro ko le so, O to le pa" (You did not lie, you killed the truth).

    Him:
    Me: (outwardly) (inside)
    The girl: (with a lightened face) 🙌🏽

    He never spoke to us again even when we tried to fix the situation, he was still angry.

    Angry T: We're sorry the truth hurts. Please forgive us but you hurt that girl badly.

  • SWEET JOKES

    One day, a Woman wanted to know how her husband would react if she played a prank on him.

    So she decided to write him a letter saying;
    "I'm TIRED, I don't want to live with you anymore. I'm gone forever. BYE!"

    After writing, she placed the letter on the table and then hid under the bed.

    When her Husband came back home, he saw the letter and read it, he replied on the same Paper and then began to sing and dance; clapping his hands and rejoicing, and started changing his clothes.

    He got his phone, dialed someone, and said;
    "Hey babe, I'm just changing my clothes and then will join you. As for the other F0ol, it has finally dawned on her that I was fooling around with her, I wish I had known you earlier..See you soon honey!"

    The husband walked out of the room.

    In tears and very Upset, the woman got out from under the bed and decided to go and read what her husband wrote on the letter.

    When she got the Letter, it says;
    "I COULD see your feet under the bed, I didn't make any phone call..I am going to buy bread. Stand up, stop your silly games and prepare me a meal..I LOVE YOU!"

  • I cannot imagine navigating life without Jesus. His body, the church, is a precious gift, and nothing surpasses the beauty of communion with fellow believers united in Him. When you find a GENUINE Christian, cherish and support them, for they are a blessing.

    Christians aren't apathetic to the struggles of others or the harmful dynamics of economic and socio-political indifference. Instead, they care deeply and choose to pray, trusting in God's power to bring hope and relief.

    Ironically, they're destined to be hated, yet commanded and compelled to love those who hate them. This radical love defines their faith.

    Don't misunderstand or resent Christians; they'll love you unconditionally, just as their Father and Lord does. They embody selfless compassion, genuinely caring for others.

    Still working on it...

    (Felt led to share it. Someone somewhere will find it useful.)
