  • BREAKING: Senator Natasha Reports Her Suspension, Case Against Senate President Godswill Akpabio To UN Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU)

At the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) meeting, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan said she is seeking justice and intervention from international democratic institutions over what she terms an “unlawful suspension” from the Nigerian senate.

She said: “I come with a heavy heart from Nigeria. But first, I will like to apologise to Hon. Kafilat Ogbara. I am not here to bring shame to our country, I am here to seek help for the women of Nigeria,” she told assembly.

“Five days ago, on the 6th of March 2025, I was suspended as a senator illegally because I submitted a petition of sexual harassment against the president of the Nigerian senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

“I thought by submitting the petition, he would recuse himself and both of us would submit ourselves to the committee of ethics, privileges and public petitions for a fair and transparent investigation.

“But unfortunately, I was silenced, and I was suspended for six months among many other stringent conditions, such as taking away my security, taking away all the official vehicles and other items that were handed over to me as a senator.

“My salary would be cut off. I must not appear anywhere near the national assembly. And for six months, I am not to present myself as a senator locally in Nigeria and internationally. I am here illegally, and I have no other place to go but to come here”.

She said her suspension is not just about her, but about the exclusion of women in political leadership in Nigeria.

“This is a clear case of political victimization, punishment for speaking out against impunity, corruption and gender-based violence,” she added.

Senate President Akpabio commended Governor Eno for fostering unity in the State, saying, “words will fail me if I am to describe how elevated I am today.

“This is the first time the blue and white have come together. I come from home, I can see my people. Akwa Ibom has demonstrated the brotherhood we stand for, and it is the governor that has made this possible.”

“Akpabio assured President Tinubu of Akwa Ibom’s full support in his administration’s efforts to move the nation forward, adding that the political leadership in the state would work towards further reconciliation and collaboration.

The high-profile delegation included Deputy Governor Senator Akon Eyakenyi; Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Helen Eno-Obareki; immediate past Governor Udom Emmanuel; present and former members of the National Assembly; Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Udeme Otong; Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas), Obong Emem Ekperikpe Ekpo; and State Chairmen of the PDP and APC, Rt. Also present were the Secretary to the State Government, Enobong Uwah; some members of the State Executive Council; representatives from various federal boards and commissions and religious and Royal fathers.

The visit underscored Akwa Ibom’s commitment to bipartisan governance, sustainable development, and strengthened collaboration with the federal government to address critical infrastructural and ecological challenges.

Disregard Falsehoods Being Peddled by Tigran Gambaryan against Nigerian Government Officials – FG

The Federal Government of Nigeria notes with concern the outrageous allegations, misinformation, and defamatory statements being disseminated by Tigran Gambaryan, an American personnel of Binance who was recently tried in Nigeria for financial crimes.

While the Federal Government of Nigeria is reluctant to engage Mr. Gambaryan, due to the high-level diplomatic intervention that resolved his case, we are compelled to set the record straight to prevent his falsehoods from gaining traction.

The first visit of Mr. Gambaryan and his colleagues to Nigeria was at their own discretion, and the Government was not officially involved. However, when the Government's attention was drawn to an alleged bribery demand during that trip, an investigation was immediately launched, despite there being no formal complaint from anyone.

Mr. Gambaryan's second visit to Nigeria was part of a wider probe into the criminal manipulation of the Nigerian currency through peer-to-peer platforms like Binance, but investigators were frustrated by the tactics deployed by Gambaryan and his team.

Mr. Gambaryan was released by the Nigerian government in October 2024 on humanitarian grounds and following a high-level diplomatic intervention that ended with tangible benefits for Nigeria. The government rejected Binance's offer of a $5 million down payment in exchange for Mr. Gambaryan's freedom, in favour of a more beneficial settlement with the American government.

We categorically deny the retaliatory claims made by Mr. Gambaryan against Nigerian officials involved in his case, and we urge the public to disregard these false accusations in their entirety.

It is essential to note that Mr. Gambaryan's allegations are not only unsubstantiated but also lack credibility, given his apparent motive to discredit and intimidate those who ensured he faced justice.

However, we are confident that both the Nigerian and American judicial systems will provide Mr. Gambaryan with a fair opportunity to substantiate his claims in court. Until then, we advise the public to exercise caution and not be swayed by Mr. Gambaryan's unfounded and malicious claims.

    Mohammed Idris

Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation.

  • GIFA FIRST ANNIVERSARY: GOV. ENO HONOURS WIFE, EXTOLS HELEN OBAREKI FOR SUSTAINING VISION

...lays foundation for Ultramodern Secretariat for wife's pet project

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has lauded the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, his daughter, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, for furthering the vision and aspirations of his departed wife, Pastor Patience Eno, through the Golden Initiative For All (GIFA).

Governor Eno made the commendation while speaking at the first anniversary celebration of GIFA, at Ibom Hall, Uyo, where he expressed delight with the ingenuity of Lady Obareki, in driving her mother's dream of enhancing family life, and bringing succour to the less-privileged to reality, despite the demise of its founder and progenitor.

According to the Governor, the event also created opportunity to honour her memory, and celebrate the first posthumous birthday, of the departed First Lady whose 57th birthday marked the launch of GIFA.

"Let me congratulate my dear daughter, the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Noble Lady Helen Obareki for stepping up and taking charge of this great Initiative.

"As you have so eloquently reeled out the achievements recorded in the last one year, it is evident that you have ticked the boxes in all the thematic areas and the impact has been deeply felt. Noble Lady, you have done well, and your mother and indeed all of us here are manifestly proud of you," he said.

Recalling his wife's humane disposition as a mother hen, who takes care of the needs of others even at the expense of her comfort, the Governor assured that his administration will continue to further her beliefs through inclusion of women in all facets of his administration's goals, and also, through programmes like the ARISE Elderly Care Initiative, ARISE Compassionate Homes, as well as intervention on issues of maternal care and gender-based violence.

He also recalled her persistent appeals for 40 percent of women inclusion in the affairs of government, adding that most of the women who have been appointed to public offices are credits to the intervention of the late First Lady.

The kidney(filter) nephrons can slowly thicken and become scarred over time.

    When this happens,

The nephrons begin to leak, and protein (albumin) passes into the urine.

This damage can happen years before any symptoms of kidney disease begin.

That’s why some people still don’t get why it looks like I’m always in your head encouraging to do the right thing.

    Because,

The intervention is mostly reduce or avoid protein intake which doesn’t solve the problem.

Reason is low protein diets robbed you of other nutrients because you will be left with carbs foods with are not nutrient dense.

Recall I said, meat, fish, eggs, organs, are the most nutrient dense food on this planet pound for pound.

So if you start seeing protein in urine, talk to your doctor, check for possible insulin resistance, reduce carbs, avoid sugar and eat nutrient dense food.

    Don’t joke with your diet.
