  • I recently watched a Christian movie that was both deeply touching and full of insight. But one statement at the end of the movie, made by Pastor Laju Iren, has been ringing in my head ever since:

"It’s better to be late in my calendar and be timely in God’s calendar."

    How powerful is that?

So often, we become impatient and feel like God isn’t answering our prayers. But one thing we must remember is this: Our calendar is not the same as God’s calendar.

As individuals, if we truly want to walk with God, we must learn to exhibit absolute patience. Patience is a virtue, and as believers seeking His face, we must trust that His timing is always perfect.

Until I write to you again,
    I'm Oyin

  • Ethereum's recent major upgrade is called *Pectra*. This upgrade combines the Prague and Electra upgrades, focusing on improving scalability, usability, and staking efficiency ¹ ². Pectra introduces several key changes, including:

    - *Programmable Wallets*: Allowing Ethereum wallets to behave like smart contracts, enabling features like conditional transfers and automated trading strategies ².
    - *Increased Staking Cap*: Raising the staking limit per validator from 32 ETH to 2048 ETH, simplifying validator operations but potentially centralizing power ².
    - *Verkle Trees*: Replacing Merkle trees to reduce data storage needs and improve scalability [7).

Pectra is currently being tested on Ethereum's testnets, with an expected mainnet launch in April 2025 ¹.

  • Yesterday, I flagged off the construction of two major road projects: the 10.9km Use Ikot Amama Road with two bridges in Ibiono Ibom and the 21.5km Ikot Anyan Ediene Road with a 60m span bridge in Ikono. These roads will improve connectivity, boost economic activities, and enhance transportation in our state. I have tasked Setraco Limited with delivering a high-quality project that meets the best standards.

Road infrastructure is a key driver of development, and we remain committed to linking every part of Akwa Ibom with a solid road network. I appreciate the support of Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio and the people of Ibiono Ibom and Ikono for believing in our administration. Our investment in infrastructure and agribusiness is for the people, and we will continue to implement projects that improve lives.

I also commend the youths for their cooperation with contractors and encourage them to protect public infrastructure for the benefit of all. Development must reach every community, and I assure you that we will extend street lighting projects beyond Uyo to brighten and secure more areas. Together, let’s build a greater Akwa Ibom! @

  • Barely a week after a major explosion rocked the Trans Niger Pipeline in Bodo, Gokana LGA, another blast has occurred at the Soku oil facility in Akuku Toru LGA, Rivers State.

The Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC-Nigeria) confirmed the incident on Sunday, citing reports from its network of youth volunteers in the Niger Delta.

In a statement signed by its Executive Director, Dr. Fyneface Dumnamene Fyneface, the group described the severity of the explosion: “An explosion accompanied by fireballs was seen in the sky near the facility, which is difficult to access.

The fire is still burning as of the time of this report.” The Soku oil facility, operated by Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Limited, has yet to determine the exact cause of the explosion, though possible reasons include equipment failure, sabotage, or a deliberate attack.

This marks the third oil facility explosion in Rivers State within a week. The first occurred in Ogoni, while the second took place in Oga/Egbema/Ndoni LGA.

  • Akpabio: No, that didnt come from Atiku

1.0 The per-second way newsworthy incidents happen in Nigeria, I am not able to wait until Monday to react in my Sun Column to what former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, is said to have said against the incumbent President of the Senate, Sen. Godswill Akpabio.

2.0 And, I am not going to use my platform -any platform of mine- to repeat whatever he said; thereby indirectly dignifying or spreading the serial presidential attempter’s group agenda against Akwa Ibom and indeed the south south, if not the southern part and the country as a whole.

3.0 But, here’s the thing: what Mr Abubakar said is a lie because unlike himself who has been accused for the records (in a book and in several media footages) by his former boss, ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, not one of the past political bosses of the senate president ever accused him of that.

4.0 Starting with the iconic former governor of Akwa Ibom state, Arc. (Obong) Victor Attah, under whom Barr. Akpabio began his political journey on I think 6th August 2002, first as Honourable Commissioner, Petroleum and Mineral Resources and later, of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs up until the end of the administration on 29th May 2007 when he took over, there’s no record of the former governor ever accusing his former Commissioner of this.

3.0 Ditto the 2015 to 2019 senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki, under whom the current senate boss served as minority leader.

4.0 Even immediate past President Muhammadu Buhari, whom Sen. Akpabio served as Hon. Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, did not ever accuse him nor has he now when dirty north-south politics is forcing big people to play in the sand.

5.0 So, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar should try another trick in their desperation to stop President Bola Tinubu’s second term by leaving Sen. Akpabio.

6.0 By the way, there can be no concluding this sans mentioning the 7-star representation (human capacity building, positioning/empowerment and projects) Senate President Godswill Akpabio has in the last nearly two years offered not just Akwa Ibom northwest, not just Akwa Ibom state, not just the south south, not just southern Nigeria, not the federal republic but also humanity.

7.0 No political allegation whatsoever shall cause any shift whatsoever in the befitting humongous nationwide support Sen. Akpabio enjoys!

  • Financial Mistakes Ladies Make in Their 20s & 30s That Can Ruin Their Future

Your 20s and 30s are some of the most important years of your life. This is when you start making major financial decisions, some good, some bad.

And let’s be real: money mistakes made in these years don’t just disappear; they follow you for years, sometimes even decades.

If you don’t handle your money wisely now, you might wake up at 40 or 50, wondering where all your hard-earned money went.

Here are some major financial mistakes women make in their 20s and 30s that can ruin their future. If you’re guilty of any of these, don’t panic, just start making changes today.

Overspending to Impress People Who Don’t Care
This one is dangerous, yet so common. Too many ladies spend money they don’t have just to look good for people who aren’t even watching.

    - Buying expensive clothes, wigs, or designer bags you can’t afford just to keep up with trends.

    - Eating out at fancy restaurants every weekend to impress friends.

    - Going broke because of destination trips, birthday celebrations, and ‘soft life’ vibes.

Listen, it’s great to look good and enjoy life, but NOT at the cost of your financial future.

What’s the point of looking rich if your bank account is crying?

Not Having Savings, Spending Everything You Earn
If your account balance reads "0" at the end of every month, you’re in trouble.

    - No matter how much or how little you earn, ALWAYS save something.

    - Emergencies happen. Life is unpredictable. If you don’t have savings, one financial crisis can wipe you out completely.

    - Start small, just 10% of your income can make a big difference in the long run.

A woman who has savings is a woman who has control over her life.

Depending on Men for Financial Security

Ladies, listen carefully: NEVER put your entire financial future in the hands of a man.

    - Yes, it’s okay if your partner supports you, but you must have your own money.

    - Too many women give up their financial independence, only to regret it later when things go wrong.

A financially independent woman is a powerful woman. No one can control you when you control your own money.

Avoiding Investment and Thinking ‘I’ll Figure It Out Later’

Many women think investing is for men or rich people. WRONG.

    - The earlier you start investing, the better.

    - Learn about stocks, real estate, or even small business investments.

    - Money sitting in your account is losing value—make your money work for you.

Your future self will thank you for the smart choices you make today.

    Accumulating Too Much Debt

Debt can feel like a quick solution, but it can also be a lifelong trap.

    - Credit cards, unnecessary loans, buying things in installments, it all adds up.

    - Many women enter their 30s drowning in debt with nothing to show for it.

    - If you must take a loan, let it be for something that will increase your financial value (like education or business).

Debt steals your future wealth. Avoid it as much as possible.

    Failing to Learn About Money

    - You don’t need to be a financial expert, but basic money knowledge is a MUST.

    - Read books, watch videos, attend seminars, educate yourself.

    - Financial freedom starts with financial education.

If you don’t control money, money will control you.

I hope you put this to use.
