  • MY ROOM RAT 1:
The first house I lived when I got admission into Unizik, there was this smallish and gentle Rat that always ran around my room....
I liked the Rat, and I NEVER attempted to kill it for once, because I believe in the philosophy of Igbo man; "egbe bere, ugo bere" which means "live, make I live"
Apart from that, the rat respected me and my personal rules which some includes not messing up my room, not tearing up my certificates/books, and not stealing my Maggi, onions or crayfish in the kitchen.
As time went on, I became too close to the rat that sometimes when I come back from lectures, if there is light, the Rat would be on my bed with my TV remote controller, changing it to its chosen channel.
I would drop my bag and leave the room just to give it some little privacy.
One day I was watching American action movie when I left to the bathroom to ease myself, before I could return, the rat changed the channel to Tom and Jerry, and was busy watching the TV.
I was watching the rat and the Rat was watching Tom and Jerry.
I became angry but as a gentleman I didn't show it on my face, I didn't want spoil the relationship between me and the Rat just because of ordinary TV, I tried hard to conceal my anger but my emotions betrayed me...
I went straight to the rat and snatched the remote from it's tiny hand and changed the TV back to the previous channel; action movie.
The rat left to it's hole, with it's face down, and tail togged between the legs... My heart melt me...I'm an emotional person.
Suddenly, the rat started keeping late at night; it would come back and make noise in the door around 12: 00 am, and I would open the door for it to enter. I began to discover some juvenile delinquencies from the once gentle rat.....
A day came, coming back from lectures, I saw the Rat going out of my room with another female rat. I now know that the Rat was a womaniser and from the look of things, the female rat was one of the girlfriends....
When I entered my room, there were lines of blood on the floor, I later discovered that the female rat was disvirgined by my room rat that very day,....
I was annoyed and I went and block the way to the Rat's hole.
When the Rat came back from seeing the girlfriend off, and wanted to enter it's hole and then find out that I had block it ....
The rat looked at me, smiled and then left.
From that day I couldn't find my WAEC Certificate again...

  • 7 Rules For Baking The Perfect Cake (And What To Do When You Mess Up)

    1. Always grease the pan and line it with parchment

It’s insurance that your cake will slide out cleanly after cooling.

    2. Allow the oven to fully preheat first

The cakes need to bake at the right temperature, with no shortcuts.

    3. Bake in the center of the oven (unless otherwise specified)

If it doesn’t specify otherwise, that’s how the recipe was designed. Changes will alter your results.

    4. Bake in the size of the pan specified

Otherwise, you’re looking at uneven baking, which means an uneven cake.

    5. Your cake broke when you turned it out of the pan

A cake has gone through a lot over the last 30 minutes, not to mention turning from a liquid to a solid! It needs a minute or two to gain its composure once removed from the oven.

Solution: Line the bottoms of your pan with parchment paper.
Cakes should rest in their pans on a rack for 15 minutes after coming out of the oven. By lining the bottom of the pan with parchment, you give yourself some added insurance that the cake will slide out after cooling. (Running a sharp knife between the inside of the pan and the cake is a good idea, too.)

    6. Your icing is full of crumbs
Crumbs are the cake decorator’s nemesis! They’re inevitable if you build a layer cake and have to split the layers, but there is a fix to minimize these irritating little morsels.

  • Seven (7) poultry rules for your farm:

Do you have passion for poultry and really wish to stay long in the business? Then, obey these rules!

    A.Rule (1)

..."Only order for birds you can conveniently take care of".
This is the most important rule of all.

Instead of stocking 500 birds and then struggle to feed them or give them medication, buy 200 ,feed and give them good medication.

Trust me, you'll make more profit than keeping 500 and struggling to feed and give the medication. If this happens, you'll battle with stunted growth, recurrent morbidity or disease outbreaks and high mortality.

    B.Rule (2)

..."Never borrow money to start poultry business unless you are an expert".

Of course, there is no expert in poultry business. In fact, we learn everyday. Every stock you take in will always teach you something different. However, Haven learnt from all the different characteristics displayed by each stock, you get to know more and won't be excited when challenges come. You'll know how to handle them without much damage.

    C.Rule (3)

    ..."Be vigilant".
The little things you don't take as anything matters.

If you want to succeed in poultry, you must take it as a real business. Do you know what a business man does every morning when he gets to his store? He pray, then open the store and go round to check if everything is in its place. He take stocks of what he met there and relate with his records yesterday before closing the store.

Don't just open your Pen and start rushing to give your birds feed and water and rush out again. Check around. Watch how they behave when you came in. Check what fell and what is no longer in its place.

    D.Rule (4)

    ..."Never ignore warning signals".

Yes, I call them warning signals.

    1.Bad smell
    2.Withdrawal from feed
    3.Moodiness
    4.Withdrawal from water

There are numerous warning signals i can't mention here. In fact, they are so many

A farmer must know how his birds behaves !!

  • Electric Love
In the dark of night, I feel your spark
Electric love, it's like a shining star
Your touch ignites, a flame that never fades
Got me flying high, in a love-dazed haze

Oh, we're cosmic souls, colliding in space
Our love's a mystery, an uncharted place
We're dancing on the edge, of reality
Electric love, it's all I can see

You're my electric love, my heart beats for you
In your eyes, I see, a love so true
We're spinning in the universe, like stars aligned
    Electric love, our hearts entwined

We're breaking free, from the chains that bind
    Our love's a revolution, a cosmic mind
We're rewriting rules, and making our own way
In this electric love, we'll find our stay

  • There is this mirror in my uncle's house no body dears to look at, it always hanged up at the reach and view of no one.

Because of this weird law, I and my siblings don't go to our uncle's house. He was very wealthy and that got us more scared, not until our parents died.

We were forced to go live with our uncle, since he was our only surviving relative. Again my uncle reviewed the rules with us.

I was the type who goes out at night to get water to drink. One night while I was entering the kitchen when I cut sight of my uncle viewing the mirror.

He was a bit serious like one who is seeing an interesting movie, I was still staring when he swiftly turned towards my direction with outmost anger in his face.

I quickly hid myself to avoid being caught, and managed to crawl back to me and my younger brothers room.

The next morning my uncle bought a water dispenser for me and warned me not to leave my room at late ours again, I accepted with fright.

That night while I was sleeping a trembling sound in the living room woke me up, only for me to find my younger brother missing.

I began searching for him but he was no where to be found, I was pushed to step out of my room in search of my brother.

I walked through the staires to go check him in the kitchen, then I saw my uncle stacking him on the neck. He was forcing my brother to stare at the mirror.

I watched with tear filled eyes as he turned my brother's head with outmost power towards the mirror. He over powered my brother and made him take a peep at the mirror, all of a sudden my brother varnished into the mirror.

I couldn't sleep that night or go back to my room, so I hid myself in the kitchen and waited for my uncle to leave for bed.

When it clocked 3am my uncle retired to bed and I went towards the direction of the mirror to take a view of what is inside.

As I looked I saw all our family relations and some other people stocked inside including my parents. I was told by my parent's to break them out by making one of my uncle's biological child look at the mirror.

I immediately rushed to my uncle's first daughter and called her to come help me that I mistakenly dropped the mirror.

"Did it break ?" She asked eagerly.

"No it didn't but I need someone taller to come help me put it back, before daddy sees it" I lied to her.

I stood back as I watch her take a view of herself in the mirror ......
