EFCC Officer Allegedly Sh%t by Yahoo Boy in Anambra Buried in Sokoto Just Days Before His Wedding
Assistant Superintendent of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Halisu Sahabi, who was tragically k+lled during a raid targeting suspected internet fra¥dsters in Awka, Anambra State, has been buried in Sokoto State according to Islamic rites.
Sahabi, was planning to marry after the next fasting season.
According to reports the raid had turned v+olent when the suspect, identified as Chukwuka Josiah Ikechukwu Nnamdi, a medical doctor from Ifite, Awka, fired a licensed pump-action g¥n, k+lling Sahabi and inj¥ring another EFCC operative. Nnamdi reportedly hid in his neighbor’s ceiling before being arrested by police and EFCC operatives.
Sources revealed that the EFCC team, dispatched from the Enugu Zonal Command, raided multiple locations in Awka to apprehend suspected cybercriminals. At the second location, Nnamdi resisted arrest, claiming he mistook the operatives for robbers. He allegedly opened fir£ when they forced entry into his apartment.
According to a source who spoke with Sahara Reporters, “When the EFCC operatives arrested the first set of suspected ‘yahoo boys,’ the police in Awka delayed them, claiming they did not seek permission before carrying out the operation. At the second location, when the suspect refused to open the door, the EFCC team broke in, prompting him to open fir£. Sahabi, who was leading the team, was fatally sh+t.
