It's strange for a believer in Christ to think/say prayer is too much.
It’s like saying trusting God is too much.
Can prayer ever be too much?
"Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;"
[Romans 12:12 KJV]
"Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;"
[Colossians 4:2 KJV]
"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;"
[Ephesians 6:18 KJV]
Scriptures tell you to always pray, every and anytime.
Prayer can never be too much, in fact make it a responsibility to always pray whenever prayer crosses your mind.
As long as walking with God is involved, praying always can never be a wrong action.
Pray! Pray! Pray!
