    OPEN HEAVENS

    OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

    DATE: TUESDAY JANUARY 21ST 2025

    TOPIC: THE POWER OF TESTIMONIES

    MEMORISE:
“That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.” - (Psalm 26:7)

    READ: PSALM 145:1-12 (KJV)

1 I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.

2 Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.

3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

5 I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

6 And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness.

7 They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness.

8 The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

9 The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

10 All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee.

    11 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;

12 To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.

    MESSAGE:
Romans 10:17 says that faith comes by hearing God's word. Revelation 12:11 also tells us that testimonies are powerful weapons that can defeat the devil. This is why I keep sharing testimonies. I have discovered that many people don't often remember the Bible passages I quote during my sermons, but they remember the testimonies. When you look back at the things the Lord has done, you become confident that you can overcome any obstruction that may come your way.

In (1 Samuel 17:1-51), when David confronted Goliath, his testimonies gave him the assurance that he would win. He said, "The God who delivered me from the lion and the bear will deal with Goliath." God has kept you alive until now, and He will keep you unto the end, in Jesus' name.

Bartimaeus, in Mark 10:46-52, was a blind man who was begging by the roadside. He heard that Jesus was passing by and began to cry for help. How did he know that Jesus can open blind eyes? I'm sure it was because he had heard testimonies of miracles that Jesus had performed. So, when he heard that the same Jesus was passing by, he knew that his miracle had come.

Several years ago, I shared a testimony about how my wife delivered a baby naturally after she had delivered three of our children through Caesarean Sections. The doctor had told us, "No more babies," and we agreed. Thereafter, we became born again, and one day, I read the Bible passage that says, "...with God nothing shall be impossible," and I believed it. My wife and I agreed that we would have another child, and this time, we would not involve any doctor. The baby was born safely by God's grace. I shared the testimony for the first time in Kaduna, a state in Northern Nigeria, as I preached a message titled, '10 steps to your miracle' (The original sermon note I used can be accessed in the Open Heavens International Centre). A woman who attended the programme wrote all the steps in her notebook. She had undergone two Caesarean Sections and was pregnant with her third baby. When she was about to give birth, she took the notebook and began to follow the steps. While she was still acting on the steps, the baby came.

Beloved, Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). If you have heard someone share a testimony concerning whatever situation you are going through, have faith that your miracle will also come.

    ACTION POINT:
List at least five things God has done for you and share your testimonies with those around you.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: EXODUS 17-20

    AUTHOR PASTOR E A ADEBOYE

HYMNAL: 26 - THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING

1 There shall be showers of blessing:
    This is the promise of love;
    There shall be seasons refreshing,
    Sent from the Savior above.
    Refrain:
    Showers of blessing,
    Showers of blessing we need:
    Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

2 There shall be showers of blessing,
    Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain. [Refrain]

3 There shall be showers of blessing:
    Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come and now honor Thy Word. [Refrain]

4 There shall be showers of blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we're confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call! [Refrain]

  • No matter how good and kind you are,
there are people who won’t be pleased with you.

No matter how hard you work,
there are people who would still pull you down.

These are the things you have no control over.
And so you have to let it go and trust that it is God who will do the fighting for you.

“The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7)

  • DAY FOUR: (4)
    17th,JAN, 2025
    TOPIC: CONFRONT AND CONQUER
    TEXTS:
    1 Samuel 17
    For deliverance.
To declare war and engage in the ministry of conflict.
The aggressive attitude of young David to Goliath confirms that attack is the
best form of defence. Therefore equip yourself with unfailing amour of the Lord and
launch an attack against every Goliath harassing your life.
Romans 8:31, 37: "What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us,
who can be against us?,.. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors
    through Him that loved us."
When two opposing camps meet, the result is a confrontation! And it is the
stronger party that will conquer. We thank God for I John 5:4 that says, "Whosoever
is born of God overcometh the world; and this is the victory that overcometh the
world, even our faith." God does not expect us to run from our enemies. He expects
us to stand and face them. That is why Paul says, "Having done all to stand, stand
    therefore. .." (Ephesians 6:13,14).
We should learn to use the spiritual weapons that God has pro- vided for us.
This is the only way we can conquer. A For though we walk in the flesh we do not
war after the flesh: (for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty
through God to the pulling down of strongholds).
This prayer programme is designed to storm the places of safety
(strongholds) of the enemy. As you start this prayer programme, every stronghold
the enemy has erected against your life will be pulled down.

    PRAYER POINTS

    1. I command all serpentine and scorpion spirits to depart and go now, in the name of
    Jesus.
    2. The spirit of self-destruction will not prosper in my life, in the name of Jesus.
    3. The spirit of self-termination will not prosper in my life, in the name of Jesus.
    4. Every evil inner voices, be silenced in my life, in Jesus' name.
    5. Let the concrete constructed by the enemy to stop the germination of my miracles be
broken to pieces, in the name of Jesus.
    6. Let the blood of Jesus erase the legal ground the enemy has against me, in the name
    of Jesus.
    7. I close all the doors opened to the enemy forever with the blood of Jesus.
    8. Let all the footholds and seat of the enemy in my life be abolished, in the name of
    Jesus.
    9. I command all words contrary to God's word spoken against me to fall dead to the
ground and bear no fruit, in the name of Jesus.
    10. Let the tongue of the enemy of my soul be divided and be destroyed, in the name of
    Jesus.
    11. I withdraw every personal invitation I have given to the enemy for my destruction, in the
    name of Jesus.
    12. I vomit every satanic poison in my life, in the name of Jesus.
    13. Let all evil hosts gathered against me begin to scatter and never regroup again, in the
    name of Jesus.

    14. Let all anti-testimony forces fashioned against my life be scattered by the thunder of
God and never regroup against me again, in the name of Jesus.
    15. I reject partial or temporary freedom, in the name of Jesus.
    16. I break the power of any demonic spell issued against my life, in the name of Jesus.
    17. I paralyse all evil powers delaying my miracles, in Jesus' name.
    18. Let the anointing of the overcomer fall mightily upon my life, in the name of Jesus.
    19. Let my tongue become an instrument of the glory of God, in the name of Jesus.
    20. Let my hands become an instrument of divine prosperity, in the name of Jesus.
    21. Let my eyes become an instrument of divine revelation, in the name of Jesus.
    22. Let all my oppressors receive the leprosy of divine judgement, in the name of Jesus.
    23. I withdraw my name from the list of untimely death, in Jesus' name.
    24. Let every evil consumption be flushed out of my system, in the name of Jesus.
    25. You agents of frustration, I command you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, loose
    your hold over my life.
    26. You agents of poverty, I command you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, loose your
    hold over my life.
