Back when I lived in Nigeria, there were certain foods that we looked at as Super premium.

Things like strawberries, grapes, blueberries and honestly for some, even Apples.

For the average Nigerian, this is not something you have access to everyday because of how expensive they can be sometimes.

If you were blessed enough to eat them, it would be once in a while, on special occasions.

And you would feel like you’ve arrived in life.

Now I live in a country where honestly, this is one of the cheapest things you can get.

It’s nothing special. It’s just like buying oranges in Nigeria.

    Guess what is expensive here???

Those foods that we take for granted in Nigeria.

The other day I bought like 10 Okra stalks for about 6 dollars..

That’s like 8 thousand Nigerian Naira.

In my head I’m like “Ordinary Okoro that market woman can dash me?”

Buying Nigerian food here now is the new premium.

You don’t eat it all the time.

    Eating yam is like Christmas.

As I meditated about this, the Holyspirit was teaching me something so profound.

What’s the difference between these foods?

Honestly 99% of the time,It’s all about accessibility.

As humans we tend to trivialize things we have easy access to.

Some of us have family members that are probably more anointed than some people we follow and respect.

But we just push them aside why, we are too familiar.

Some of us can’t be blessed in church or by someone speaking in our local church.

Well because we know all about them and we grew up together and all.

Some men have wives that can lay hands on them but they don’t even think about her when they need help why?

Is it not this my wife???

Some people cheat on their spouses with someone they just met or a colleague.

They have this fantasy that this person is out of this world.

    Not really!

They have just become too used to the treasure back at home.

And we run around looking for premium.

When there is premium right there at home.

Funny how this is what made the Pharisee more annoyed with Jesus and couldn’t see that He was the messiah.

They knew that this was “just the carpenter’s son”.

They were too familiar to recognize God!

I pray God helps us all.

May you not throw away premium.

May God open your eyes to recognize treasure even if it’s in your locality.
