Majorly, you find this type of writing in storytelling, be it fiction or nonfiction. The second is the expository method, and it is the type of writing where you explain something that has happened in the past. This is the type of writing that news websites and blogs use, for they give updates about what has happened in the past. Also, you can use expository in storytelling if you want to give your readers a bit of backstory of your character. The third one, which is the descriptive method is a type of writing method where you describe something or an event. You weave your words in such a way that you paint a clear picture of what you are talking about. You make the person reading your text have an imaginary picture of whatever you are describing. You can use descriptive method of writing to describe an event, a place, or a person. Lastly, the persuasive method. This is the type of writing where you persuade someone to take an action. This type of writing is mostly used in marketing articles like copywriting. So, basically, the purpose of your writing will determine the method to use. In addition, a piece of writing can also fall into more than one method of writing. However, in the case of storytelling, you can use all the methods of writing except the persuasive method. Also, there is another less popular method, which is the argumentative method. Mostly, people don't usually use this method of writing frequently, for it is mostly used in writing essays – argumentative essays. I hope you learn something.
