I have a friend that stayed at home for a long time before gaining admission into the higher institution then. Hmmm.... I mean, she stayed over ten years seeking admission. She wrote lots of JAMB and Entrance Examinations of various Universities but couldn't be admitted even when she passed most of their exams. Guess what? She resorted to praying fervently because according to her she felt it was no longer natural especially coming from someone like her that we all knew was extra ordinarily intelligent and used to write our own exams for us. We all joined her in prayers too.. The last straw was when she wrote her last entrance Examinations in the University of Lagos. That was where the jinx got broken. She was given admission and she was happy. The most delightful part of her story is that while her friends had several carry overs and missing scripts in school, she never had any until she graduated. They were all surprised because it was usually said that in a student's lifetime in school, he or she must have a carryover.
I wrote about this because of the moral lesson in the story which is : Focus, determination and resilience. These and more are the special virtues my friends has and I have learnt a lot from her.
I hope this story helps someone today.
