Spiritual growth is achieved by proper DISCIPLESHIP - mentorship.
Like you having SOMEONE who disciples you, someone who teaches you the Bible and teaches you how to live the Christian life by precept and example.
Jesus exemplified this and put it forth as a pattern for His disciples to follow.
Without proper discipleship, the gospel won't have gotten to us, so now we have the responsibility to walk in that same pattern so the gospel will get to others.
