Have you ever been in a situation wherein you humbly ask God for his favor? A time when you see yourself putting your whole heart in prayer?
But what does it really mean when we say, “God bless me, indeed?”
For us, sometimes "Lord, bless me!" means:
-"Give me a Promotion"
-"Send me my biggest breakthroughs"
-“Help me pay my bills.”
-“Healing for a loved one.”
-“Protection and Safety.”
And many more.
We tend to equate God’s blessing to more of our material belongings and successes. We look at God’s blessing only on the things that we acquire from him. But how about if he says “no” or “not yet”, does that mean that he is playing favorites?
—The answer is No.
Whether he does it or not, he will remain superior and his goodness never decreases. Empty-handed or not,
his blessings can't be measured by just answered prayers.
God’s blessing can’t be limited by the things that this world can offer. You’ll see that on many days of our lives that our prayers won’t be answered, but we are still blessed and highly favored.
Our own view of blessing focuses more on “ourselves” rather than “GOD” and “HIS WILL.”
But to bless in the biblical sense is asking or to impart the supernatural favor.
•You are making an ally with the God whose power is limited and wisdom is endless.
•When we ask for God’s blessing, we are allowing ourselves to dive in into God's power and purpose over us.
•Praying for God’s blessing is surrendering our plans in exchange for God’s plan over our lives.
God's blessing means :
"What God has in store for me."
"What God wants to happen in my life."
In short — God's will.
Dear Lord, bless me indeed.
My hands are emptied to receive what's coming from you.
