Regrets

We all have our regrets
Times when guilt on us besets
On our minds a heavy debt
Things we just can not forget

Things we wish we would have done
Of the past if only we could rerun
If we had only just begun
But it’s too late for that someone

Every one of us is the same
Different looks, different name
But inside we all feel shame
For things undone, we take the blame

I guess it is just what it is
We have to live with what we give
You do your best, that’s all you can do
And hope in the end they know that I love you
