"Behind the Mask"
I'm a fleeting shadow, invisible to the naked eye
Unless I'm needed, then I'm visible, but only for a sigh
My beauty's a curse, hated by many, admired by few
But is it truly beauty, or just a faded hue?
I wear a mask for the world to see
A filtered version of me, a curated reality
But when I'm alone, and the mask slips away
I reveal my true self, in all my imperfect array
Maybe I'm the villain, maybe I'm to blame
For the bad characters that I've accumulated over time and shame
But maybe, just maybe, I'm not alone
Maybe we're all villains, wearing masks to atone
I'm a fleeting shadow, invisible to the naked eye
Unless I'm needed, then I'm visible, but only for a sigh
My beauty's a curse, hated by many, admired by few
But is it truly beauty, or just a faded hue?
I wear a mask for the world to see
A filtered version of me, a curated reality

Maybe I'm the villain, maybe I'm to blame
