"No One is Home"

Episode 8: The Ancient Knowledge

Mae's eyes seemed to cloud over as she handed Ava the leather-bound book. "Be careful, child. The knowledge within comes at a steep price."

Ava's fingers brushed against the cover, and she felt a sudden jolt of energy. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Mae's gaze drifted toward me, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. "The entity is not what it seems. It's a symptom of a greater problem, one that threatens to consume us all."

Ava's eyes narrowed. "What problem?"

Mae's voice dropped to a whisper. "The Shadow Weaver. An ancient being with the power to manipulate reality itself."

I felt my mind reel as I tried to process the information. A being with the power to manipulate reality? It sounded like something out of a myth.

Ava's grip on the book tightened. "How do we stop it?"

Mae's expression turned grim. "You'll need to uncover the secrets within the book. But be warned, child, the knowledge comes at a terrible cost."

As Mae finished speaking, the lights in the café began to flicker. The air grew colder, and I could sense a presence lurking just beyond the edge of perception.
