PDP: Lagos Won’t Be Governed by Father and Son
The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed to oppose any move to install Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, as the state’s next governor.
This reaction comes in response to recent endorsements of Seyi as a potential successor to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in 2027 by various groups.
One such group, the Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders, made an endorsement on Tuesday in Owerri, Imo State, proposing that Seyi could instead run for governor in Osun or Imo states, where his family reportedly has roots.
Similarly, a socio-political organization, Friends of Seyi Tinubu, has endorsed him, highlighting his visionary leadership qualities, intelligence, empathy, and strategic thinking.
These endorsements, however, have sparked criticism from numerous stakeholders, with many opposing the idea of dynastic politics in Lagos.
