Davido's "Awuke" ft YG Marley feels l@zy, which is disappointing since it's his first single of 2024; The song is catchy thanks to the flow, but lyrically speaking it shows a lack of growth. The post-chorus is also completely off & could've been better-written to give the song some substance. Furthermore, YG didn't really match Davido's energy & didn't nail the refrain. Hopefully this isn't the lead single for his next project/album, cos it feels like he (Davido) is running out of things to sing about. The track is a 2.5/10. No offense.
