As a man, even when you marry, your first priority is not to your wife. It is to your parents. Read Scripture. It says, 'Honour your father and mother' and, 'Love your wife'. Honour is a stronger verb than love. God loves the word. But God honours His word more than His Name. Yes, you have a covenant with your wife. But you have blood with your parents. Covenants can be broken. Blood is unbreakable. You are a part of your parents; therefore, apart from them, you will depart from your life's path. After God, it is your parents.
