When Jessica regained consciousness, every part of her body ached. Blood stained her skin, and a bag filled with money lay beside her. The men and the pythons were gone, leaving her alone in the eerie silence of the room. Shakily, she grabbed her phone and saw 17 missed calls and 5 messages from Tina. Gathering her strength, she took the money, her phone, and staggered out of the house, her mind a whirlwind of fear and disbelief.

Jessica had no idea where she was or how to get home. Her surroundings were unfamiliar, adding to her disorientation. She called Tina, her voice trembling, pleading for her to call the police and use her phone’s location to find her. As she waited, she felt unease in the lower part of her belly and the aching of her head is like an Ekiti woman pounding yam. She looked at the bruises all over her and her body bites with pain.

Jessica’s thoughts raced, haunted by the nightmare she had passed through. The allure of money had led her into a trap, and now she faced the challenge of escaping the physical and psychological scars left behind. She wondered if she could survived the night. She kept looking at the time and praying that her friend arrive with the police. Hot tears rolled down her cheeks.

As she cried, she remembered she had been a christian. This was not how she had began and planned her life. She remembered she used to be the good girl and how everything changed for her one day at the University of Lagos. Oh, only if she could turn back the hand of time.

The pain refuses to subside. Her vision is now getting dim. It looks as though she is seeing double, her mind hallucinating. "God, please just help me. I know i've been gone astray, but please just help me..... I will never do this again in my life..... please... please..." she prayed and sobbed simultaneously.

Her legs could no longer hold. The cold night wind seems to be blowing more. She didn't understand how she's feeling. She tried to move but...........

gbam!

To the floor she went crashing
