  • Persevering in faith by keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus

“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the Founder and Perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:1-2)

Believing is not always easy. Christians all too often face opposition from outside. Moreover, they must fight against the sins that keep popping up in their lives. And finally, there is sometimes discipline from the Lord when they are in danger of straying from the right path. In the face of so much adversity, the temptation is great to lose heart and give up. But that should not happen!

Today’s Bible verse urges us not to fix our gaze on the difficulties in our lives, but on Jesus, “the Founder and Perfecter of our faith.” He has preceded us in faith so that we can follow Him. He showed us what living according to God’s will means. He persevered even when He was mocked, imprisoned and crucified. He was also the first to reach the final goal of faith: “the joy that was set before Him.” That prospect helped Him endure the severe suffering. Thus, we too may look forward to the joy that awaits us in God’s new world, if we believe in the Lord Jesus!
In what ways do you see Jesus as an example? How can you imitate Him in your walk of faith?

  • Beyond Faith & Intellect

Intellect is inadequate because not all things can be explained. Intellect needs faith.

Faith is impotent because it remains forever obscure. Faith needs intellect.

But they are opposites, as contradictory as yes and no:
    Faith accepts; Intellect questions.
    Faith surrenders; Intellect struggles.

Miraculously, there is a power that can join them in harmony, and it is called wisdom.

Wisdom is the capacity to see the truth as it is
and the quietness to allow it entry without compromise.

  • Holiness Is A Fruit

'But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done and not to leave the other undone.'
    Luke 11:42

When Jesus said, 'and not to leave the other undone,' it is clear that He is not arguing against doing what is right. God's Word stresses holiness in our actions. The Pharisees' error that caused Jesus' rebuke was that they believed their actions could produce a right relationship with God. But a proper relationship with God can only come by humbling ourselves and putting faith in a Savior, who is Jesus. God cleanses our hearts by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8) and then we have our fruit unto holiness (Rom. 6:22). Holiness is a fruit, not a root, of salvation.

In a similar instance found in Matthew 23:26, Jesus told the Pharisees, 'Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.' True Christianity comes from the inside out. A good heart will change a man's actions, but a man's actions cannot change his heart.

One of religion's favorite doctrines is that if you will just act right, you will be right. Nothing could be further from the truth. You must be born again. And if you are born again, then holiness is a by-product and not the way to a relationship with God.

This is the heart of the Gospel. Every major religion of the world has a moral standard it enforces, but only Christianity offers salvation through a Savior. Presenting holiness in any way other than as a result of salvation is denying Jesus as our Savior and places the burden of salvation on us. Improper emphasis on achieving holiness or salvation through one's own actions can damn that person. We must trust Jesus completely.

  • Praying for Leaders and Nation:

    Leaders:

We pray for every leader, President, Attorney General Barr, Supreme Court Justices ( And nominees to come), Congress and Senate, Mayors, Governors, Police Officers, Judges in our land, that you will give them wisdom. I pray that the justice system will have eyes to see in the spirit realm (Whether they realize it or not) And that they will have divine wisdom upon them and rule with God’s righteousness and according to God’s plan.

“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:1-5)

May the spirit of prophecy start to work in our leaders. Where they start to speak by you spirit whether they know it or not, like you did with Caiaphas.

“You do not realize that is better for you that one man die for people than that the whole nation parish. Caiaphas did not see this of his own. Instead, as high priest that year, he was prophesying that Jesus would die for the nation…” (Acts 11:50-51)

Lord let our leaders do your will. Change them even as you did for Saul when he was the leader of Israel and Paul in the New Testament.

“Then the Spirit of the LORD will rush upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be transformed into a different person.” (1 Samuel 10:6)

“Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10)

    Nation:

We bind evil right now over our nation. I ask you that righteousness would reign in our country and evil is exposed and cut off. Jesus pull your sword of justice out and bring justice where every evil is. Every agenda that is not of you bring it into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

“I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:18-19)

As believers we lay at the root an ax and cut off and dismantle the evil and it’s power over our nation, over our country, over our state and over our city. We cut it off. We cut off evil and its purposes. That it will not bring forth fruit. That righteousness will reign through our justice system and government. And that God would either change hearts or remove those who will not rule and agree with his righteousness. We pray that he would remove those who take bribes and have selfish agendas rather than God’s agenda, those who are serving themselves and not our nation. Have mercy upon our nation and remove those who would cause our nation to go in a wrong direction.

    Prayers for the Body:

We repent. We take accountability for our actions and beliefs. We turn our face back to you. We ask that you would heal our land.

“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

May the fire of the Holy Spirit consume every evil and chaff in our lives, believers lives and those who are in leadership. You are a consuming fire. Remove those things that are unfruitful in our lives. Deliver us from our sins and from the evil one.

“And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.” (Matthew 6:13)

In Jesus name, a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God for all believers. That their eyes would be flooded with revelation. That they will know the hope of which they have been called. And the power that raised Jesus from the dead.

“That the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may KNOW [experience] what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power…” (Ephesians 1:17-19)

That every believer will hear your voice and you would show them their future. What is their part in this generation. That they will have hope.

“Where there is no revelation, or prophetic insight, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.” (Proverbs 29:18)

For the church to be strengthened, for corruption to be revealed, and for the great harvest!“

So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his field.” (Matthew 9:38)

Pray to receive the Spirit’s power so that Jesus’ presence would be manifest in us, so we experience God’s love.
