• Calamity In The Land

    Episode Six

    "Aru! "
Some villagers screamed as they saw what has happened.

Mazi Ibe was in his hut when the friend of the girl he had earlier molested came to attack him.

She carried a matchet and threatened to cut Mazi Ibe with it. However, before she could raise it up, Mazi Ibe grabbed hold of the matchet and landed it on her head.

The blood that oozed out of the girl was so much as she fell to the ground and her head rolled one side while her body rolled to the other side.

The villagers found it so abominable to see a daughter of the soil destroyed in such a manner in her own land.

They began to run as their eyes could not behold the sacrilege that just happened.

That night, the kingdom of Ajaka was in a sad mood as they began to remember the number of lives Mazi Ibe has ended while he continued to live.
    .
    .
The moonlight was so bright that a pin could be found if it fell from one's hand. Mazi Ibe could not understand the strange urge he had to rest outside his hut on that particular night.

On a normal night, he had never laid in his hut. He always slept at his secret hut at night, for fear of being visited by the gods of the land.

It has been rumored once that the gods of the land had gone to look for him many times in his hut but has never found him.

The villagers wondered how true that was since they believed that the gods knew everything and should be able to see wherever Mazi Ibe was hiding.

Mazi Ibe lied down on a bamboo mat outside his hut to rest his body and the next thing he saw was some group of young men coming towards him.

Before he could attempt to disappear, they had already surrounded and spread a red cloth on him so his power was affected, such that he could not disappear no matter how hard he tried.

The youths came prepared this time and there was nothing he could do than to surrender and beg for forgiveness.

"My children, please forgive me. I am so sorry for all the atrocities I have committed in this village. "
    Mazi Ibe pleaded.

"Mazi, it is said that anything that has a beginning, also has an end. Today is your end! "
One of the young men said.

"You have made this village a land of calamity by your daily evil deeds and today, justice has come against you! "
Another young man said and they began to cut Mazi Ibe into pieces while he screamed out in pain.

When they were done, they ran out of the scene and pretended as though they didn't know what happened to him.

The next day, the village was in uproar as the villagers all gathered to watch the disgusting sight of how Mazi Ibe was killed.

Looking at his dismantled body on the ground, some villagers began to feel pity for him as they watched some able bodied men packed his pieces together and threw it into the evil forest.

Amongst the young men who murdered Mazi Ibe was a young boy called Kale. He was an only child and an orphan and. No one suspected him to be among the boys that murdered Mazi Ibe because he was a very quiet boy.
    .
    .
One week after Mazi Ibe was murdered, Kale was returning from the farm when some spirits began to chase him. He ran to a powerful Dibia in the village.

When he got there, he ran into the shrine and began to call the native doctor.

    "Wise one, wise one. "
He shouted as he looked around.

The Dibia came out and asked him to sit down.

"Young man, I know what your problem is. You were visited by some spirits today and you are here to find out who they are and why they are after you."
    The Dibia said.

"Yes, wise one. They didn't just visit me, they tried to harm me. Who are they and how did I offend them? "
    Kale asked.

"They are the spirits of the people Mazi Ibe destroyed. They are hovering around you because Mazi Ibe's blood was spilled by you.

You bear the blood of Mazi Ibe in your hands and it is a very evil blood so you won't go without some consequences.

    Monica David
You will need a strong cleansing to put an end to this and live peacefully again."
    The Dibia said.

"Wise one, Mazi Ibe was an evil man who had been killing our vibrant young men and molesting our maidens.

The villagers wanted somebody that could put an end to his wicked existence and we did. Why then is it now seen as a sacrilege? "
    Kale asked.

"My son, it is true that Mazi Ibe was an evil man and the villagers were praying for his destruction but anyone who volunteers to end an evil man's life will bear the consequences, himself. "
    The Dibia revealed.

"What! Are you saying I will now bear the consequences of killing Mazi Ibe? "
    Kale asked.

"Yes, my son. I am afraid, there's no way I can help you. "
The Dibia said, and he asked Kale to leave his shrine.

Just as Kale left the shrine, something unimaginable happened.

  • ANASTASIA. 8

Selina pressed Anastasia's forehead with a wet towel wiping off clustered bloods from her forehead and other parts of her body

Anastasia opened her eyes, she looked at Selina and shut them immediately

It's high time you leave this house Anastasia... Selina murmured but she didn't respond

The door opened and Emily walked in majestically, she collected Anastasia's phone and walked out

You allowed her go away with my phone? Anastasia asked

This isn't my house.. replied Selina

Anastasia struggled to get up, she removed the towel from her forehead and followed Emily

You will fall oh.. Selina told her

Anastasia stumbled but refused to give up. She was determined to get her phone back and confront Emily about her betrayal. She pushed past Selina and out of the house, her eyes fixed on Emily's retreating figure.

"Emily, stop! Give me back my phone!" Anastasia called out, her voice weak but determined.

Emily turned, a sly smile spreading across her face. "Oh, Anastasia. You're so weak. You can't even protect yourself, let alone your phone."

Anastasia's anger surged, giving her the strength to keep going. She stumbled forward, her eyes blazing with determination. "Give. Me. Back. My. Phone."

Emily laughed, holding the phone just out of reach. "You'll have to do better than that, Anastasia. You'll have to prove yourself worthy."

I have had enough of your stupidity in this house Emily and I think I better involve the police immediately...

Emily sneered "very soon you will be pushed out of this house because you don't have the documents of this building anymore "

Anastasia moved closer to her and held her by the neck, Emily struggled to free herself from her grip but it was really beyond her

Get your hands off my neck.. she coughed

Anastasia collected her phone from her and pushed her with all her strength

Emily crashed to the ground, stunned and gasping for breath. Anastasia stood over her, phone clutched in her hand, her eyes blazing
