    ATIKU ABUBAKAR'S LATEST CLAIMS ARE BASELESS AND DISTRACTING

    The attention of the Presidency has been drawn to the unfounded allegations made by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who claims to be the subject of an EFCC investigation regarding unsubstantiated financial dealings involving Lagos State.

    These claims, circulated through his media office, are false and reflect a troubling pattern of relying on social media gossip over substance. It is disheartening that a politician of Atiku's stature would lend credibility to baseless social media speculation to remain politically relevant.

    President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains focused on addressing critical national challenges and advancing his administration's agenda for Nigeria's growth and stability. The President has neither the time nor the inclination to engage in petty political distractions.

    Atiku's allegations are infantile and a transparent ploy to deflect from his political setbacks. His repeated attempts to drag the Presidency and now the Lagos State Government into fabricated controversies reveal a desperate bid for attention amid his fading attempt to cobble a coalition.

    Since his defeat in the 2023 presidential election, the former Vice President has failed to rise to the dignified role of an elder statesman. Rather than contributing constructively to the national discourse, he has chosen the path of divisive rhetoric and unfounded accusations.

    We urge Atiku Abubakar to redirect his energy toward initiatives that foster unity, economic progress, and democratic stability—qualities Nigeria urgently needs.

    Lastly, the former Vice President should know that the EFCC, as an independent institution, operates within its statutory mandate without external influence. Any insinuation otherwise is a disservice to the agency's professionalism and the rule of law.

    The Presidency remains committed to transparency, accountability, and the pursuit of national development—priorities that demand our undivided attention.

  • I never knew my husband pretended to be blind to see if I really loved him.
    I knew Jacob when I was searching for a job,I had just graduated then and was in the labour market.We had bumped into each other at the entrance of one of the companies I had submitted my resume to.

    I apologized sincerely and he smiled"No problem .By the way,you look beautiful"
    "Thank you"I was so happy.

    After that I got the job,it was later I found out that he was the Director of the company and had chosen me because of how I behaved when we bumped into each other.
    It started as colleagues then friends who went out on dates and stuffs like that.He told me he wanted me to be his girl and I accepted because I had fallen for this guy.
    He opened a big boutique for me because according to him he didn't want us working in the same place .I accepted this idea.

    He engaged me and we got married.Our Marriage was the talk of the town and internet mind you I was an instagram influencer,I showcased my diamond ring and my new car he got for me.
    Things were going fine till suddenly my husband had an accident.
    Actually I was not around when this happened,I went to visit my mother who lived in another state.I was the eldest child and I had two younger sisters.
    Because of my husband,our lives changed.I bought a house for my mom and my sisters had the latest things.

    I rushed down to the hospital immediately I got a call that my husband had an accident.
    I was grateful he didn't die but then the doctor walked in and gave me the heartbreaking news.He called me aside and spoke to me"Ma'am your husband was so lucky thank God the operation was successful but it affected his eyesight"
    I was confused"What do you mean?"
    "It affected his eyesight but it's temporary.He should be brought to the hospital at least twice a week for check-up"
    I nodded but deep down I was crying.Why?Why did it have to happen to me?Our marriage was barely a month old.
    I went back to the ward to see him,my eyes filled with tears and pity.
    "Babe,you are here?"He spoke out.
    "Yeah,how are you feeling?The doctor said the accident affected your eyesight"
    "Yes"His voice was calm.
    I sighed .

    Three days later,he was discharged from the hospital.When we got home,I left him to the bedroom and made him lie on the bed.
    I stood watching him while my heart bled in pain,worry and regrets.
    I couldn't take it so I left the room.I took my phone and called my mom, telling her about it.She was sad but she advised me to take care of him since the doctor said it was temporary at least we had hope.
    It wasn't easy for me, what would I tell my fans on instagram?I reasoned.
    I slept without eating that night.The following day I helped him wash up,dress him up and serve him breakfast in bed.
    He didn't say a word to him.He was calm and it made me more uncomfortable.
    I told him I was leaving the house and ordered the cook to answer him when he calls for help.
    I drove to my boutique,I was sad and hated everything Infact I regretted marrying him.What if he never regains his sight again?I asked myself.

    My friend who wasn't married yet came to buy clothes from my shop and met me in a sad mood.She asked what was bothering me.After a brief silence,I told her.
    "Hmmm....that's heartbreaking.You are now a slave in your husband's house"She remarked.
    "What do you mean?"
    "You are not wise at all.Listen,if it were you that suddenly became blind do you think your husband would want you again?"She asked and this made sense to me.
    "I still love him"
    "I know but this is an opportunity to get money from him if you know what am talking about after all he can't see"
    She spoke for a while, paid for the clothes she bought and left.
    I went home that night but this mindset that it was either I gain control of the situation or l leave him to face his life.
    I couldn't be a slave in my husband house so I employed a maid who would always help him whenever he needed something and that was how everything started.

    *THE PRESCRIBED AUTHORITY* 🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏽‍♀️🧎🏾🧎🏾‍♀️🙏🏽🙌🏽

    ```TEXT:1 TIMOTHY 2:12-15```
    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence" (1 TIMOTHY 2:12).*_

    *Teaching is an indispensable tool for shaping the future of society. The Bible also places a high premium on the teaching ministry, alongside those of apostles, pastors, prophets, and evangelists. The primary aim of biblical teaching is to unveil the mystery of the word of God for the edification of the Church. Teaching makes the results of preaching more enduring. Hence, during His earthly ministry, Christ backed His preaching with teaching and told His disciples to do the same.*

    *Today's key verse states that women should not teach in the church. Many interpretations have been given to this Scripture. Some people argue that the restriction was meant to apply only to the Ephesian church. Others explain that it is in the context of the patriarchal nature of the Jewish society of the period. In practice, some churches allow women to teach while others do not. What then is the biblical pattern? When can a woman teach in the Church and how far can she go?*

    *The appeal to the story of Adam and Eve shows that the restriction is universal. Apostle Paul anchors the restriction on the headship and leadership of man in the home and the family. From this, we can deduce that the teaching of God's word in the church is an expression of authority within the church. Consequently, a woman who teaches in a congregation that includes men usurps the authority of the man and violates the biblical principle. This neither demeans women nor makes them inferior to men. It is a matter of divinely assigned roles. There are other occasions where women are encouraged to teach. For instance, mothers are expected to teach their children and young women (Proverbs 31:1-3; Titus 2:4). Priscilla and Aquila took Apollos aside and explained to him the word of God more accurately (Acts 18:26). This was a private setting. Miriam led the women in singing after God overthrew the Egyptian army in the Red Sea (Exodus 15:20, 21).*

    *The role of women in the church cannot be overemphasised. However, such roles are not to be played in violation of the divinely ordained principle of male headship of the church. This also teaches believers godly attitude to prescribed authority which we must honour and obey.*

    ✍🏽```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` _*In God's economy, man and woman are equal in value and dignity but differ in biology and function.*_
