🌏💦HIS WONDROUS LIGHT - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME 💦 🌏 ═══════════════ Monday, November 18th 2024 ═══════════════ 📖But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light (1 Peter 2:9) ═══════════════ Peter's beautiful words help us to further understand Christianity. In Christianity, we've been born into God's marvellous light, His wonderful light. The word "marvellous" means wondrous. Most translations interpret this as if we're being brought out of literal darkness into light. But that's not the full picture. When it says He brought us out of darkness, the term "darkness" actually means obscurity. He called you out of obscurity. He's not referring to being called out of the kingdom of darkness in a general sense, but rather being brought out of obscurity—out of being unknown, unrecognized, unnoticed, where nobody knows or cares about you. He brought you out of obscurity into limelight, His wondrous or wonderful light. Why does He call it wonderful light? It will take several scriptures to fully explain this, but I want you to understand that this is the light of Jesus Christ. In Luke 1:79, Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist spoke about the message of salvation that would be brought forth, saying that this message would illuminate those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death: "To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace." They were sitting in darkness, sitting in obscurity, but Christ would be their light. This means His wonderful light does two things: it illuminates you and then makes you luminous. You become lambent and resplendent. Yours is the kind of light that both illuminates and transforms into a light source itself. The light is so strong, so dazzling that it turns its subjects into lights. That's why it's described as His marvellous light, His wondrous light. The idea of the Joshua Challenge is not to unravel God's power. Nobody can. The idea is to make people think. There are wrong answers but no right answer. Random is about thinking faith. We've been told over the years faith and intellect don't mix. Nothing can be further from the truth. Jesus is called the Logos in the Bible. Logos is rational divine intelligence. It's from Logos we got the words, zoology, logic, and even logistics. Meaning, Jesus is the source code of the sciences and humanities. How can the Creator of the universe not understand science! The net effect of this wrong indoctrination is why some people of faith imagine God suddenly put brakes on the earth's rotation to answer Joshua's prayer. Just a little bit of research would have killed such thought. I have also seen people struggling with the Joshua Challenge refer to the Bible passage as a myth. They unwittingly imagine themselves the boundary of knowledge. What they don't understand is unattainable. And instead of crediting themselves with ignorance, they lay the charge at the feet of Christianity. The ironic thing is, if a Christian attributes a gap in knowledge to God, they label God, "God of the gaps." But when they do the same, they fail to label themselves. Lords of the gap? Are Joshua, the Cananites, and the Israelites a myth? Of course not! What they don't realize is that they themselves verify scripture in being drawn to a social media page exalting Jesus. As it is written, "And I, if and when I am lifted up from the earth on the cross, will draw all people to Myself - Gentiles, as well as Jews.” (John 12:32) They fulfil scripture. As to Christians who think such exercises are needless, "It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter." (Proverbs 25:2) I find it an interesting coincidence that Einstein describes space as a fabric, just as the Bible does in Hebrews1:12. That's what cross polination of knowledge does. It makes scriptures real, makes us appreciate God more. Intellect is not anti God. Ignorance is. There is such a thing as intelligent faith. *The Joshua Challenge submissions will be reviewed over the weekend. Results will be announced Tuesday.

The tares are almost indistinguishable from the wheat. False piety, conversions and knowledge, mere mastery of Christian terminologies, empty zeal, etc. are characteristics of professed Christianity. I am calling many in the visible church today to repent, obey the gospel and believe the truth so as to be saved.

We speak faith, not fear, doubt, or unbelief. Using the expression, "I can't" reinforces a mindset of limitation. One might think it's just about a specific situation, like not being able to move something, but it's more than that. It's incongruous with your divine nature. Recall what Paul said: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13 NKJV). In Christianity, we have the "I-can-do" mentality. It forms the basis for our communication. 2 Corinthians 4:13 says, "We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak." We speak the Word. We speak in alignment with the divine realities of our heavenly Kingdom. Life is about what you say. Proverbs 18:21 says, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." So, mind your language; speak right.
