ATIKU ABUBAKAR'S LATEST CLAIMS ARE BASELESS AND DISTRACTING

The attention of the Presidency has been drawn to the unfounded allegations made by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who claims to be the subject of an EFCC investigation regarding unsubstantiated financial dealings involving Lagos State.

These claims, circulated through his media office, are false and reflect a troubling pattern of relying on social media gossip over substance. It is disheartening that a politician of Atiku's stature would lend credibility to baseless social media speculation to remain politically relevant.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains focused on addressing critical national challenges and advancing his administration's agenda for Nigeria's growth and stability. The President has neither the time nor the inclination to engage in petty political distractions.

Atiku's allegations are infantile and a transparent ploy to deflect from his political setbacks. His repeated attempts to drag the Presidency and now the Lagos State Government into fabricated controversies reveal a desperate bid for attention amid his fading attempt to cobble a coalition.

Since his defeat in the 2023 presidential election, the former Vice President has failed to rise to the dignified role of an elder statesman. Rather than contributing constructively to the national discourse, he has chosen the path of divisive rhetoric and unfounded accusations.

We urge Atiku Abubakar to redirect his energy toward initiatives that foster unity, economic progress, and democratic stability—qualities Nigeria urgently needs.

Lastly, the former Vice President should know that the EFCC, as an independent institution, operates within its statutory mandate without external influence. Any insinuation otherwise is a disservice to the agency's professionalism and the rule of law.

The Presidency remains committed to transparency, accountability, and the pursuit of national development—priorities that demand our undivided attention.

  • Ethereum's recent major upgrade is called *Pectra*. This upgrade combines the Prague and Electra upgrades, focusing on improving scalability, usability, and staking efficiency ¹ ². Pectra introduces several key changes, including:

    - *Programmable Wallets*: Allowing Ethereum wallets to behave like smart contracts, enabling features like conditional transfers and automated trading strategies ².
    - *Increased Staking Cap*: Raising the staking limit per validator from 32 ETH to 2048 ETH, simplifying validator operations but potentially centralizing power ².
    - *Verkle Trees*: Replacing Merkle trees to reduce data storage needs and improve scalability [7).

Pectra is currently being tested on Ethereum's testnets, with an expected mainnet launch in April 2025 ¹.

  • Just as the finger pulls the trigger of a gun, asthma also has triggers.

Aside from the usual environmental factors like dust and heat, asthma also has other factors that trigger it. We have things like allergens and also emotional factors also triggering asthma.

Allergens are a primary trigger category. Cockroach allergens(yes the cockroach we run from) sometimes are responsible, pollen from trees, grasses and weeds also exacerbates asthma, particularly during peak pollen seasons.

Beyond allergens, non-allergenic triggers play a substantial role. Exercise, for instance, can trigger asthma symptoms, especially in cold and dry air (I don't know why you'd be running sef, when no one chaseth. ). Strong emotions like stress, anxiety and emotional arousal can lead to quickened breathing, airway construction and asthma symptoms. Even food and drink can trigger asthma, with sulfites, food additives and caffeine being notable culprits.

  • Borno Govt Reaffirms Support for Correctional Services as New State Controller Assumes Office

The newly appointed 22nd Controller of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) in Borno State, Ibrahim Bawa, has pledged closer collaboration with the Borno State Government to strengthen correctional reforms and security efforts.

Bawa, who was formerly in charge of the Bauchi Custodial Centre, made the commitment during a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Prof. Usman Tar, at the Musa Usman Secretariat, Maiduguri.

Accompanied by key officials including Squadron Officer CSP Shettima Limanti, Staff Officer Umoru Jauro, and Public Relations Officer Bala A. Tisa Bawa expressed appreciation for the state government's continued support, particularly during the September 2024 Maiduguri flood disaster when relief materials were provided to inmates.

"I am here on a familiarization visit and to appreciate the unwavering support of the Borno State Government, especially during the recent flood disaster, where essential relief materials were conveyed to the inmates, as confirmed by my predecessor," Bawa stated.

Responding on behalf of the state government, Prof. Tar welcomed the new Controller, assuring him of the administration’s sustained partnership with security agencies.

"We are pleased that a son of the soil, who understands the terrain, has assumed this crucial role. The Nigerian Correctional Service is integral to the criminal justice system, and as the focus shifts from mere incarceration to correctional rehabilitation, our support remains critical," he said.

The commissioner further reaffirmed the government's commitment to enhancing the justice system, highlighting recent interventions such as the passage of the Criminal Justice Act and housing allocations for correctional service personnel.

"We will continue to work closely with you, particularly in reshaping public perceptions of correctional facilities. They are not condemned communities but places of rehabilitation and reintegration, and together, we shall change that narrative," Prof. Tar added.

The event was attended by senior officials of the Ministry including the Permanent Secretary, Modu Alhaji Mustapha (FCNA) Director of Administration and Supply, Babagana Mustapha, and Director of Information, Malama Habiba. Also in attendance was the Special Adviser and Spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Dauda Iliya.

The event was concluded with the signing of the Visitor's Register and a group photograph.
