  • A lot of you may not know the difference between an SME and a startup.. and which of them gets more funding. I wouldn't leave you in ignorance, so permit me to explain.

As an entrepreneur, understanding your business's stage is crucial for making informed decisions. Startups are newly formed businesses characterized by innovative approaches, rapid growth, and scalability.

They operate in uncertainty, experimenting with different models, products, and services. Startups often rely on external funding from investors, crowdfunding, or bootstrapping.

On the other hand, SMEs (Small to Medium-sized Enterprises) are established businesses with a steady revenue stream, focusing on refining operations, expanding offerings, and building customer loyalty. They have larger, more structured teams and may access traditional funding sources like bank loans.

Understanding the difference is essential for entrepreneurs, as it informs funding decisions, hiring processes, and growth goals. By recognizing whether you're running a startup or an SME, you can make more informed decisions and avoid costly mistakes.

So, which one secures more funding? Startups typically secure more funding, especially in the early stages, due to their innovative ideas, scalability, and potential for rapid growth.

Investors are often attracted to startups with disruptive technologies or unique value propositions, leading to higher funding opportunities.

  • You invited me to an event and added me to your WhatsApp committee group.

Despite my limited resources, I made a contribution.

On the day of the event, I spent a significant amount on transportation, due to the hike in transportation fees.

I arrived early to secure a front-row seat because I wanted to ensure you noticed my attendance and registered it in your memory.

Everything was going pretty well until it got to the part of refreshments.

I was excited because I knew I would be served first, since I was seated in the front row.

But the caterer thought it wise to start serving drinks from the back, and by the time they got to me, the drinks were finished, leaving me with no choice but to settle for sachet water.

A few minutes later, a cooler of rice was brought to our canopy, and I already knew their sharing technique, so I had anticipated it.

Swiftly, I changed seats and stylishly relocated to the back row.

But what did the caterer do this time? They started from the front row and began sharing the food.

Before they got to my seat, the food was finished, and once again, I was left with just a toothpick.

And now, here you are standing beside me, asking me to smile while posing for the camera.

    If I smile make bend.

  • To understand how √2 equals approximately 1.4142, we can use various mathematical techniques. Here's a broad explanation:

    1. Geometric Method:
Imagine a right-angled triangle with both legs equal to 1 unit. Using the Pythagorean theorem:

    a^2 + b^2 = c^2

where a and b are the legs, and c is the hypotenuse.

    1^2 + 1^2 = c^2
    2 = c^2
    c = √2

Now, imagine a square with a side length of 1 unit. The diagonal of this square is equal to √2 units.

Using a compass and straightedge, we can construct a sequence of triangles and squares to approximate the value of √2.

    2. Decimal Expansion:
We can express √2 as a decimal using the following method:

    √2 = 1 + 0.4 + 0.02 + 0.0004 + ... (using the Babylonian method or other numerical methods)

This decimal expansion converges to approximately 1.4142.

    3. Continued Fractions:
We can express √2 as a continued fraction:

    √2 = 1 + 1/(2 + 1/(2 + 1/(2 + ...)))

This continued fraction converges to approximately 1.4142.

    4. Babylonian Method:
This ancient method involves making an initial guess, then iteratively refining that guess using the formula:

    x(n+1) = (x(n) + 2/x(n)) / 2

Starting with an initial guess of 1, we can iterate this formula to converge to approximately 1.4142.

These mathematical techniques demonstrate how √2 equals approximately 1.4142.
