  • HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR DICTION AS A SINGER

    1) Practice Tongue Twisters
Singers know all about trying to belt out specific lyrics, then something unexpected comes out. You can practice preventing this by saying tongue twister. First, try speaking them, then try singing them.

I recommend focusing on ones with letters or syllables that are more difficult for you. Start slow, then work up to a faster speed. Really make sure you are articulating each sound. You can also try speaking or singing the alphabet to get the shapes ingrained in your muscle memory.

Here are a few tongue twisters that are great for improving your diction:

*She sells seashells by the seashore.
    *Red leather, yellow leather.
*Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.
*Who washed Washington’s white woolen underwear as Washington’s washerwoman went West.

    2) Practice Vowels
When you repeat sounds, your voice will naturally become more effective. Take some time to focus on each of the vowels: ah, ay, ee, oh, and oo. Add a consonant at the beginning (such as “mah, may, me…”) and sing through the list, making sure each one is clear. As you practice this, your enunciation will only get better.

    3) Practice Consonants
Just like with vowels, you want to repeat consonant sounds when doing diction exercises. Again, this will improve your enunciation over time. Focus on consonants, like D, T, and N. Practice speaking the different sounds, repeating each a few times.

    4) Do Lip Buzzes and Tongue Trills
When you’re singing, you’re using all parts of your mouth, including your lips and tongue. So, you need to warm those up, too! Warm up your lips, tongue, and teeth with simple lip buzzes and tongue trills. This will also get you ready to produce a wide range of sounds when singing. Not only is this good for practice, but it’s a quick and valuable exercise to do right before you perform.

    5) Incorporate Breath Support
To be an incredible singer, you have to use a lot of air. This means you need your breathing to be on par. Support this by incorporating breath support into your diction exercises. You can do this by picking one of the tongue twisters above and practicing saying it all in one breath. I remain your favourite vocal coach Kvocals and I believe in you

"I have credible intelligence that some people went and bought some shops at the Christmas village and are now re-selling for as much as N300,000.

“If anybody tells you to pay N300,000, please report the person immediately.
Anybody who sells a shop to you, just take the shop, pay the person N100,000, if he asks you for any balance tell them to meet Umo Eno.”

Governor Eno announced the prohibition of masquerades and other weird displays at the Christmas village, directing the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Sir Charles Udoh to enforce the order.

He assured the people of uninterrupted job execution at various project sites and urged the youths to embrace the trend by availing themselves of various jobs that will be executed during and after the festivities season.

Earlier, the Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Environmental Protection and Waste Management Agency, Prince Ikim commended the vision of the governor in maintaining a clean state through the purchase of the equipment, and pledged his commitment to driving the vision of the Governorto fruition.

In a goodwill message, the Chairman of Itu Local Government Area, Mr. Ubong Nkut thanked the Governor for bringing development to the area and mentioned the flag off of the Nnung Ukot Itam - Ikot Ekwere Road projects as testaments to his promise kept in the area, assuring the Governor of the support of the people beyond his first tenure.

  • Marriage is not just about wearing a ring, posting cute pictures, or calling each other sweet names. It’s a journey full of ups and downs, smiles and tears, growth and sacrifices. Many people dream of the perfect marriage, but when the real challenges come, they feel stuck, lost, or even defeated.

Let’s be real. In many marriages, things are not what they seem on the outside. You see couples looking happy on social media, but behind closed doors, some are battling misunderstandings, lack of communication, or feeling unappreciated.

For example, imagine a woman who gives her all to her family—she wakes up early to take care of the kids, cleans the house, cooks delicious meals, and supports her husband. But at the end of the day, she feels invisible, like no one sees or values her efforts. The husband might be busy with work, trying to provide, but he forgets the small things—like saying, "Thank you" or spending time together.

This is real life. Many couples forget that marriage is not just about surviving the tough times but about growing together during them.

Here’s a truth no one talks about: Marriage is not perfect. You will argue, you will disagree, and you will feel hurt sometimes. But what makes a marriage strong is the ability to rise above these challenges together. Forgiveness, patience, and understanding are the keys to lasting love.

To those women who feel like they’re giving too much in their marriage and getting little in return—don’t lose yourself. Remember, you are not just a wife or a mother; you are a person with dreams, talents, and value. Speak up for yourself. Let your voice be heard, but do it with love and wisdom.

To the men who might read this—your wife is not a robot. She’s not there just to cook, clean, and take care of the home. She needs your love, your attention, and your support. Show her that you appreciate her, not just with words but with actions.

Marriage is a partnership. Both of you need to work together to make it strong. Respect each other, listen to each other, and grow together.

And if you’re not married yet, let this be a reminder: Don’t rush into marriage because of pressure or fear of being alone. Take time to build a strong foundation, understand your partner, and know yourself.

At the end of the day, a happy marriage is not about being perfect. It’s about two imperfect people refusing to give up on each other.

Stay strong, stay hopeful, and remember—every day is a chance to make your marriage better. Keep working on it, and don’t forget to enjoy the journey.
