  • Antidiabetic medications can be classified into several categories based on their mechanism of action. Here are the main classes:

    1. **Biguanides**
    - **Example:** Metformin
    - **Action:** Decreases gluconeogenesis and enhances insulin sensitivity.

    2. **Sulfonylureas**
    - **Examples:** Glipizide, Glyburide, Glimepiride
    - **Action:** Stimulates insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells.

    3. **Meglitinides**
    - **Examples:** Repaglinide, Nateglinide
    - **Action:** Stimulates rapid insulin secretion in response to meals.

    4. **Thiazolidinediones (TZDs)**
    - **Examples:** Pioglitazone, Rosiglitazone
    - **Action:** Increases insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues.

    5. **DPP-4 Inhibitors**
    - **Examples:** Sitagliptin, Saxagliptin, Linagliptin
    - **Action:** Increases incretin levels, leading to increased insulin release and decreased glucagon secretion.

    6. **GLP-1 Receptor Agonists**
    - **Examples:** Liraglutide, Exenatide, Dulaglutide
    - **Action:** Mimics glucagon-like peptide-1 to increase insulin secretion and reduce glucagon secretion.

    7. **SGLT2 Inhibitors**
    - **Examples:** Canagliflozin, Dapagliflozin, Empagliflozin
    - **Action:** Inhibits glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, promoting glucose excretion.

    8. **Insulin**
    - **Types:** Rapid-acting, Short-acting, Intermediate-acting, Long-acting
    - **Action:** Replaces or supplements insulin hormone in the body.

    9. **Alpha-glucosidase Inhibitors**
    - **Examples:** Acarbose, Miglitol
    - **Action:** Delays carbohydrate absorption in the intestines.

Each class has distinct mechanisms and indications, allowing for personalized diabetes management.

  • *OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL*

    *DATE: MONDAY MARCH 10TH 2025*

    *TOPIC: THE GREAT INVITATION*

    *MEMORISE:*
*"Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.” - (Isaiah 55:1)*

    *READ: JOHN 7:37-39 (KJV)*

*37. In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.*

*38. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.*

*39. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)*

    *MESSAGE:*
Jesus gave what many call 'The Great Invitation' to everyone (Matthew 11:28-30). He promised to give rest to everyone who comes to Him, and that includes you.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:31 that you should never worry. He wants you to cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). He owns you, so He will take care of you. The question now is, does Jesus really own you? Does He own the thoughts of your heart, the direction and focus of your eyes, and your resources? If He truly owns you, then you have nothing to worry about. However, if there are parts of your life that you haven't surrendered totally to Him, then there's cause for worry.

My Father in the Lord taught me that it is what your father has that he will take care of you with. If God is your Father and owner, then He will take care of you with pleasures forevermore because they are abundant at His right hand (Psalm 16:11). However, if the devil owns you and you do his will, he will take care of you with lies and torment because that is his speciality. When the devil owns a fellow, that fellow will always be in need, because true satisfaction can only be found in God. The devil has nothing good to offer his own. While he has slaves, God has sons, and as a son of the Most High, all things are yours (1 Corinthians 3:21). God is extending a great invitation to you today, just like the one Jesus extended to the crowd on the great day of the feast in today's Bible reading. He is calling you to come and drink and to come and buy wine without money and without price. He is calling you to a life of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17).

I call heaven and earth to record this day...that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: (Deuteronomy 30:19)

The ball is in your court. Do not live in anxiety, fear, and confusion; accept the great invitation to surrender completely to God so you can enjoy all the goodies He has for His children. When you choose life, you make the best choice, not only for yourself but also for generations after you. Beloved, accept God's great invitation - choose life.

    REFLECTION:
Are you choosing life with your thoughts, words, actions, and decisions?

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: JOSHUA 18-20

    AUTHOR PASTOR E A ADEBOYE

HYMNAL: 27 - WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS

1 What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
    What a privilege to carry
    everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
    everything to God in prayer!

2 Have we trials and temptations?
    Is there trouble anywhere?
    We should never be discouraged;
take it to the Lord in prayer!
Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
    Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer!

3 Are we weak and heavy laden,
cumbered with a load of care?
    Precious Savior, still our refuge--
take it to the Lord in prayer!
Do your friends despise, forsake you?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
    In his arms he'll take and shield you;
you will find a solace there

  • The police are not debt collectors.
More so u are at risk if u don't go to the police station to bail your loved one with the services of a legal practitioner who knows the hierarchy of the Police force .all these would have been avoided.

Another red flag to be watched for the abuse of human right is the CP Tactical Crack Squad formations, they have indeed continued from where SARZ stopped.

I won't be surprised that it was tactical squad that did this , they don't wear uniforms or name tags , dey look scary and dey are always on mufty, u don't know who is who , u can't identify a superior officer as dey all behave as one.

If you are a lawyer that doesn't know how to handle police matters they will keep you turning round n round from one officer to each officer till your client sleeps in the cell.

They Re quick to slapping those in their custody , dey issue threats to beat etc and always angry at the sight of a properly dressed lawyer and they are very allergic to phones and other recording devices, dey will tell you to drop ur phones at the gate.

    God help Nigeria
