The ugly situation is where you have to prove to God what you’re made of. We can’t see it at the time, how any good can come out of the ugly situation, where we were betrayed, we’re dealing with an illness, we lost a loved one. It may not be fair, but without it, you couldn’t become who you were created to be. It’s depositing something in you. It’s stretching you and getting you prepared for things greater than you’ve imagined.

God uses things that we don’t like. He wouldn’t have allowed it if there wasn’t some purpose. We don’t understand it. All we know is that we prayed; we did our best. We worked hard, and yet this business partner cheated us, our child got in trouble, we received a bad medical report. We didn’t see this coming. But can I encourage you: the ugly times are necessary. God is working behind the scenes. Stay in faith. Keep trusting. You won’t see beauty if you don’t deal with the ugly times properly. God uses ugly situations to do something beautiful, something that you would never have seen without the betrayal, without the loss, without the adversity. Yes, to believe bigger is going to cost you something. It’s easy to stay comfortable. It’s easy to live average, but you can’t become who you were created to be with average faith. God is looking for great faith. He’s looking for people that will cause Him to marvel. To say, “Wow, look at what they believe I can do. They believe they can get well despite the diagnoses. They believe they can have a blessed year despite the economy. They believe they can start that business, that their family will be restored.” Great faith gets God’s attention.

No matter who overlooks you, tries to push you down, discredit you, don’t worry. They can’t stop what God has planned for you. Because you’re chasing after God, His blessings are going to chase you down. You don’t have to go after them; they’re going to come looking for you.
