Rabbit

Rabbits are small mammals in the family Leporidae (which also includes the hares), which is in the order Lagomorpha (which also includes pikas). They are familiar throughout the world as a wild prey animal, a domesticated form of livestock, and a pet, having a widespread effect on ecologies and cultures. The most widespread rabbit genera are Oryctolagus and Sylvilagus. The former, Oryctolagus, includes the European rabbit, Oryctolagus cuniculus, which is the ancestor of the hundreds of breeds of domestic rabbit and has been introduced on every continent except Antarctica. The latter, Sylvilagus, includes over 13 wild rabbit species, among them the cottontails and tapetis. Wild rabbits not included in Oryctolagus and Sylvilagus include several species of limited distribution, including the pygmy rabbit, volcano rabbit, and Sumatran striped rabbit.

Here are five facts about rabbits;

1)Teeth:
Rabbits have teeth that never stop growing, and can grow up to 5 inches per year. Their teeth are designed for chewing and chomping, and they don't have sharp canines like cats and dogs.

2)Ears:
Rabbits can move their ears independently, and most can turn them 180 degrees. This helps them pick up sounds, which is important for a prey animal.

3)Eyes:
Rabbits have almost 360 degree vision, but they have a small blind spot just below their nose. Their eyes are set farther apart or on opposite sides of their head to give them a wider field of view.

4)Diet:
Carrots are high in sugar and shouldn't be a staple in a rabbit's diet. Instead, hay and leafy greens should be the main part of their diet.

5)Social:
Rabbits are social creatures and are happiest in the company of other rabbits. They communicate using subtle body movements, and make a variety of sounds including grunts, growls, and purrs.
