  • The cost of refilling cooking gas cylinders has become a pressing issue for many Nigerians, with the price per kilogram varying widely across the country.
As of today, the average price of 1kg of cooking gas hovers around ₦1500, but the exact amount depends on the location and the size of the gas cylinder.

The 12.5kg cylinder, a common household size, tends to cost more to refill than smaller options like the 12kg, 6kg, 5kg, and 3kg cylinders. Among the highest refill costs is the 50kg cylinder, widely used by large households and commercial establishments.

Consumers have also noted a difference in how long cooking gas lasts, as usage duration for 1kg of gas varies based on several factors.

The intensity of the flame is another key factor, as higher flames deplete gas more quickly. Cooking frequency and duration also play a role, with frequent, lengthy cooking sessions resulting in faster gas depletion.

Despite the high cost, many Nigerians have no alternative but to continue using cooking gas, especially in urban areas where other options may be less accessible.

The fluctuating prices and varying refill costs highlight the impact of Nigeria’s economic environment on essential household items, leaving consumers hoping for relief in the form of price stabilization.

See the price of cooking gas per kg below:

    1kg Cooking gas – ₦1,500

    3kg Cooking gas – ₦3,000

  • I Am Humiliated; It Is My Reputation, My Honour– Woman in Viral Tapes Alleges Betrayal by Baltasar
    HnewssNov 11, 2024 11:05 AM
According to Vanguard, a scandal involving former Director-General of Equatorial Guinea’s National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), Baltasar Engonga, has taken a dramatic turn as Cristel Nchama, one of the women allegedly featured in leaked explicit videos with him, has come forward accusing him of betrayal after a four-year relationship. Nchama has filed a formal complaint with the National Gendarmerie in Malabo, expressing her devastation over the leaked footage, which has caused a national scandal and severely damaged her reputation.

Engonga, who was already under investigation for fraud, faces further scrutiny after authorities reportedly discovered nearly 400 explicit videos. The footage allegedly includes encounters with several high-profile women, such as his brother’s wife, his cousin, a member of the presidential family, the wife of the police director-general, and about 20 ministers' wives.

Nchama stated that she had initially resisted being filmed, trusting that Engonga would respect her privacy. “I am humiliated,” she said. “My reputation and honor are at stake. I want to know how these videos were leaked and why he kept them.” Nchama claims Engonga had promised to delete the footage, describing the leak as a profound betrayal. She is now seeking reparations for the damage to her dignity.

Engonga’s immediate dismissal from ANIF followed the scandal, with the government also suspending several officials allegedly involved in similar activities. As details continue to emerge, the public is left grappling with ethical and privacy concerns in a scandal that has deeply shaken Equatorial Guinea
