  • It makes a difference what you’re allowing in. If you let noise clutter your mind—negative news, worry, drama, divisiveness—that’s not only going to take your joy, but it’s going to affect you physically. Stress and frustration weaken our immune system so it doesn’t fight off disease like it should. Noise comes to all of us in different ways. It may be people that are not for you or what you’re watching and listening to. It’s not doing anything good. It’s just clutter, things to get you stirred up: drama, controversy, opinions. That noise is keeping you from enjoying your family, pursuing your dreams, from the victory that belongs to you

  • We should feel responsible for what God has given us. Each day is a gift. We are told to make the most of our time. You can’t be your best with a bunch of noise cluttering your thinking, clouding your vision. Some of the things we’re allowing in our minds are like spam. It’s serving no purpose. It’s a distraction. That person trying to get you upset or a coworker gossiping. Listening to news driving home and feeling irritable. Laying in bed, worrying about that child over and over. That’s all noise trying to get you anxious, confused, overwhelmed. Like you do on your phone when you see spam, you need to hit the end button. “No, thanks. I don’t have time for noise. I don’t have time to get distracted. I have a destiny to fulfill.”

  • In the Old Testament, God sent plagues on Pharaoh and his people for not letting the Israelites go. The final plague was that the first-born of their children would be killed. God told the Israelites they had to put blood on the doorpost of their house to protect themselves. When the death angel came, as long as they had blood over their house, they were invisible to the enemy. What was the difference? One had the blood, and the other didn’t. One was under the shelter of the Most High, covered by His wings, the other wasn’t. When you keep the blood over your house, when you honor God and stay close to Him, you have an advantage. He hides you when trouble comes. He makes you invisible to the enemy.

  • Proverbs says, “Train up a child in the way that they should go and, in the end, they will not depart from it.” You may have a child that’s off course. The good news is you trained them up to know the Lord. That faith was deposited in their spirit. The promise is, in the end, they will not depart. It doesn’t say anything about the middle. They may take some wrong turns. Wait on them. Keep believing, keep encouraging, keep praying. Don’t get discouraged, God knows how to get their attention. You keep praying and something is happening. In the end, they will not depart. They’re off course now, but your declaration should be, “They’re coming back. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
