  • Episode 6: The Betrayal of the Gods

Osun's influence was not without its challenges. As the goddess of love, she was admired and desired by many gods. But not all were as honorable as Shango or as wise as Obatala. One such god was Olokun, the god of the sea. His domain stretched far beyond Osun's rivers, and his jealousy of her fame and adoration grew with each passing year.

Olokun believed that the sea, vast and endless, should be revered above all else. He was angered by the fact that mortals praised Oshun for her small river while neglecting the great oceans he ruled. To Olokun, it was an insult.

Driven by envy, Olokun plotted to diminish Osun's influence. He sought out Orunmila, the god of wisdom, to help him devise a plan. "The people should worship me, not Oshun," Olokun growled. "Her river is nothing compared to my mighty seas. Help me, and I will share the secrets of the deep with you."

But Orunmila, though wise, was loyal to Oshun and refused to betray her. "Olokun, you misunderstand. The sea and the river are both necessary. One cannot exist without the other. Do not let Jealousy blind you."

Olokun, however, would not be dissuaded. He decided to confront Osun himself, and what unfolded next would change the balance of the gods forever..

    To be continued...

The legend of Oshun continues, as new challenges, betrayals, and rivalries test the strength and wisdom of the goddess of love and rivers. Her story is a reminder that love, like the waters she possess can not be tamed or destroy .

  • I'm not a fighter, but I would love to be a boxer because I love the courage and toughness. I mean, there can be nothing more terrifying than walking into an arena and looking at Mike Tyson in the ring.
